Type in File Explorer in the Search box and click the result

1. Open the Start Menu and, in the search box, type in File Explorer and click the result.

2. In the menu bar, select View and tick the Hidden items checkbox.

Right-click all of Microsoft Edge files in Appdata and click Delete

3. Then navigate to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe

4. Select all of the files in the folder, right-click them and click Delete.

5. Close the File Explorer window.

Type in powershell and open it in elevated mode

6. Then, hold down Windows+R keys to open Run.

7. Type in powershell and hold down Ctrl+Shift+Enter keys to open elevated Windows Powershell.

Enter the command in Windows Powershell and hit the Enter key to execute it

8. In the Windows Powershell window, enter Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose} and press the Enter key to execute the command.

9. Close Windows Powershell.

Reset Apple Safari to its default settings

11. Then, from the Safari menu bar, select Develop and click Empty Caches.

Open the Safari menu and click Preferences

12. Open the Safari menu once again and select Preferences.

Select Extensions and click Uninstall

13. Select the Extensions tab. Select an extension and click Uninstall.

Click Show in Finder

14. Click Show in Finder.

Right-click an extension and click Move to Trash

15. Right-click the extension and click Move to Trash, or drag the extension to the Trash.

Enter your Mac password and click OK

16. Type in your password and click OK.

Option 2. Reset Apple Safari by deleting com.apple.Safari.plist

Right-click the Safari icon in the Doc and click Quit

1. First, make sure Safari isn’t running. Right-click the Safari icon and click Quit.

Open the Go to Folder window and enter the com.apple.Safari.plist file path

2. Then, Hold down Shift+Command+G  keys to open the Go to Folder window.

3. In the Go to folder dialog, type in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Safari/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist and click OK.

Right-click the com.apple.Safari.plist file and click Move to Trash

4. Right-click com.apple.Safari.plist, and click Move to Trash.

5. Close the window, right-click Trash in the Doc, and click Empty Trash.

6. Restart your Mac to complete the reset.
