Five million new malware samples created in the third quarter of 2011

According to PandaLabs Internet criminals has released more than 5.000.000 new malware samples this quarter. Most of the spread infections were Trojans ( 3 of every 4 new malware samples were Trojans). The graph below reflects the global malware situation:

The highest rates of malware infections were recored in China. The following countries are Taiwan, Turkey and Russia:

The countries with the least computer infections are Sweden, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Germany:

Cyber criminals are using various means of spreading malware. As of previous quarters Internet criminals are continuing to use social networks and search engines poisoning techniques for the purpose of infecting computer users with malware.

Acording to PandaLabs overall situation of malware samples is similar to those recorded in the second quarter of 2011.
