This program pretends to scan your computer for HDD, ram and security errors. After the fake scan this software will state that your computer has errors and that you need to purchase a full version of the software that it could remove them. Don't buy this program, Disk Helper is a scam. You should remove this rogue program from your computer as soon as possible. This fake computer optimizer is programed by Internet criminals who created this program to trick you into purchasing it's full version. Most commonly such fake programs are distributed using Trojans which uses security vulnerabilities in users computer to install Disk Helper.

When installed on your computer this bogus program will imitate a system check-up and will state that there are some critical errors regarding your computer's RAM memory and HDD. These statements are made to scare you into believing that you could loose the information that is stored on your computer.

You shouldn't be impressed by the professional looks of this program, it's a useless software that imitates all it's processes. While analyzing this program we couldn't find a legitimate scan engine which should be used to determine if there are any errors with your computer hardware so this just adds to the fact that Disk Helper is a fake program which should be eliminated from your machine. Needless to say that the waring messages stating that there are bad sectors in your HDD are also false, they are generated and is shown to further scare you into thinking that you may loose your precious information. You shouldn't even consider buying a licence for Disk Helper in order to fix the issues with your PC, you will send your money to Cyber criminals and your computer will still be infected, the right way to act in this situation is to remove Disk Helper from your computer. Disk Helper removal

1. Start your computer in safe mode. Click Start, click Shut down, click Restart, click OK. During your computer starting process press F8 key on your keyboard multiple times until you see Windows Advanced Option menu, then select Safe mode with networking from the list.

2. Open Internet explorer, click Tools and select Internet Options. Select Connections, then click LAN settings, if a Use a proxy server for your LAN is checked, uncheck it and press OK.

3. Press ctrl+alt+del (or ctrl+shift+esc), you will enter your Task Manager. [if this doesn't work try clicking start, selecting "Run" and typing taskmgr] Select "Processes" tab.

4. In your Task Manager search for a process with random letters, select this process and click "end task".

5. After this procedure you should be able to access your desktop. Now you should download a legitimate anti-spyware software to fully remove Disk Optimizer from your computer.

6. After downloading anti-spyware software. Install, don't forget to update, and run a full system scan. Remove all infections that it finds.

Additional information:

If you can't access Internet:

Start Task manager. Press ctrl+alt+del (or ctrl+shift+esc) and end task the processes of rogue program. ( if after this procedure you can't access any programs press ctrl+alt+del, click File, select New Task, and type explorer.exe then press OK.

Open Internet explorer, click Tools and select Internet Options. Select Connections, then click LAN settings, if a Use a proxy server for your LAN is checked, uncheck it and press OK.

After this procedure you should be able to access Internet. Now you can download anti-spyware software from our "Top spyware removers" section and run a full scan. Download, install and don't forget to update your selected anti-spyware program. Then run a full system scan.

General Tips on removing Disk Helper:
