Suomen Poliisi virus - how to unlock your computer?

Suomen Poliisi screen lock is a ransomware infection, which predominantly targets PC users from Finland. Cyber criminals responsible for creating this scam hope that computer users will fall for the trickery displayed within this deceptive message and pay a 100 Euro bogus fine. This message is designed to appear as if it is delivered from Finland's police. In fact, it is created by cyber criminals who make money from unsuspecting PC users who pay the bogus fine for fabricated law infringements. The fake message states that certain PC users from Finland are obliged to pay the fine for watching pornography and downloading videos and audio files from the Internet.

Suomen Poliisi ransomware originates from a family of related infections called Urausy and exploits security vulnerabilities within users' computers. When this scam infiltrates a user's PC, it completely blocks the computer screen and demands payment of the 100 Euro fine in order to unblock the computer. Cyber criminals use Ukash and paysafecard prepaid cards to collect the bogus fines, since these transactions are difficult to track by the authorities. Do not pay this fine - you will lose your money and your PC will remain locked. If you see this message blocking your computer screen, your PC is infected with ransomware.

Suomen Poliisi virus

The Suomen Poliisi ransomware virus targets PC users from Finland, however, the same infection on a computer located in the USA would appear as if it was delivered from Interpol and the fake message translated to English. Such localisation is designed to further trick PC users into believing that they have committed law violations and are obliged to pay a fine. In fact, no authorities, including POLIISI Tietoverkkorikos Tutkinnan Yksikko, use screen lockers to collect fines for law infringements. Do not consider paying this bogus fine and use this removal guide to unlock your computer. To prevent this type of ransomware and other malware infections from infiltrating your PC in future, use legitimate antivirus and antispyware programs.
