Searchinweb.info Redirect

Also Known As: Websearch.searchinweb.info Virus
Damage level: Moderate

What is websearch.searchinweb.info?

The Websearch.searchinweb.info browser hijacker infiltrates users' Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) through free software downloads. Developers of this browser settings-changing adware use a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling', thus, most users install the plugin inadvertently without their consent.

After successful infiltration, this browser hijacker assigns the homepage and default search engine settings to websearch.searchinweb.info

Websearch.searchinweb.info browser hijacker

At time of research, this site redirected browsers to Google, a legitimate Internet search engine, however, users should be aware that the developers of this deceptive browser plugin can redirect websearch.searchinweb.info to malicious websites at any time. Therefore, it is dangerous to have this browser hijacker installed on your Internet browsers.

As well as causing unwanted browser redirects, this bogus plugin tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording web pages visited, impressions, information from social media websites, clicks, and search terms. The presence of this browser hijacker on your system can lead to serious malware infections and privacy issues.

The Websearch.searchinweb.info browser hijacker is identical to previous variants, which redirect Internet users to the toolksearch.infosearchguru.info, and searchbomb.info websites. While this browser extension claims to enhance Internet browsing by enabling fast Internet searches, in fact, it adds no real value.

To avoid installation of browser settings-changing adware such as this, users should be attentive when downloading free software. Today, most freeware download websites use 'download clients' and various 'installers' to monetize their free services, and thus, not paying close enough attention when downloading or installing free software, can result in adware infections.

When downloading free software, decline installation of advertised browser plugins, and when installing the downloaded freeware, use the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal installation of any 'bundled' adware. To remove the websearch.searchinweb.info browser hijacker, use the removal guide provided.
