Easy Driver Pro Unwanted Application
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Easy Driver Pro?
Easy Driver Pro is another dubious application similar to Startup Maximizer, REOptimizer, PC Clean Plus, and many others. This app supposedly updates old drivers and installs missing ones. This functionality may seem legitimate and useful, however, developers promote this app using a deceptive marketing called "bundling".
Furthermore, it often infiltrates systems without permission. Therefore, Easy Driver Pro is categorized as a potentially unwanted application (PUA).
As mentioned above, Easy Driver Pro updates and installs drivers. Note, however, that the 'free version' can only detect missing/outdated drivers, but is unable to install/update them. Therefore, users are encouraged to purchase the so-called 'full version'. The main issue here is the distribution method.
Be aware that many "bundled" system optimization, driver installation, and other such tools are fake. They feed users with misleading scan results just to confuse and trick them into purchasing the full versions. Since Easy Driver Pro is also distributed using the "bundling" method, it might also be one of these rogue apps.
Therefore, consider uninstalling this app immediately. "Bundling" is often used to proliferate several unwanted applications (mostly adware and browser hijackers) at once.
Therefore, Easy Driver Pro is probably not the only app that has stealthily infiltrated your system. In most cases, "bundled" apps deliver intrusive advertisements, cause unwanted redirects, and gather sensitive information. Therefore, we recommend that you eliminate these extra applications.

The internet is full of unwanted apps, all of which share many similarities. By offering "useful features", potentially unwanted applications attempt to give the impression of legitimacy, however, their only purpose is to generate revenue for the developers.
Many provide no real value for regular users, cause unwanted redirects, deliver advertisements, and gather information, thereby diminishing the browsing experience and posing a direct threat to your privacy and browsing safety.
How did potentially unwanted applications install on my computer?
Easy Driver Pro is available for download on its official website, however, this app often infiltrates systems without permission, since developers proliferate it using the aforementioned "bundling" method - stealth installation of third party apps with regular software/apps. These people know that users often rush download/installation processes and skip steps.
Therefore, they hide details regarding modification of browser settings within "Custom/Advanced" options (or other sections) of the download/installation processes. By rushing and skipping steps, many users expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To system infiltration by PUPs, be very cautious when browsing the internet and downloading/installing software. Carefully analyze all steps of the download/installation processes and opt-out of additionally-included programs. You are advised to download apps from official sources only, using direct download links.
PUAs are also distributed using intrusive advertisements that redirect to malicious sites and execute scripts designed to download/install malware. Most seem legitimate, but redirect to dubious websites (gambling, adult dating, etc.).
They are delivered by adware-type apps and, thus, if you encounter dubious redirects, you should remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge and careless behavior - the key to safety is caution.
If your computer is already infected with PUAs, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
