Whilokii removal instructions
What is Whilokii?
Whilokii is a potentially unwanted application, which installs on users' Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) together with free software downloaded from the Internet. It promises to enhance users' Internet browsing experience by displaying coupon ads, thus allowing multiple site searches and providing website ratings. Note that while such added functionality may seem legitimate, many Internet users refer to Whilokii as a virus or malware. These negative associations are made since this browser plugin often installs without users' consent. Technically, it is not a virus, however, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted application. Commonly, this application installs together with free software downloaded from the Internet via 'download clients' or 'installers'.
Computer users should be aware that, today, the majority of free software download websites use download clients, which offer installation of additional browser add-ons together with the chosen freeware. Some download clients, however, are deceptive and hide the 'decline' button used to opt-out of installation of additional browser add-ons. In other cases, users are unable to continue the download process unless they agree to install the promoted browser extension. Whilokii is one of many browser add-ons originating from a family called Super Web. Add-ons from this family are promoted using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'. This application diminishes Internet browser performance and causes intrusive ads, and therefore, you are advised to eliminate it from your computer.
Whilokii is similar to Lucky Leap, Lemur Leap, and other adware developed by Super Web LLC. These browser add-ons add no significant value to Internet users' browsing experience, often install without their consent, and display intrusive ads. The best way to avoid installation of Whilokii or other adware is to closely inspect each download and installation step of free software. If your download is managed by a download client, opt-out of installation of any additional browser plugins (by clicking 'decline'). Furthermore, when installing freeware, use the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal any bundled adware. If you observe "Powered by Whilokii", "Whilokii deals", or "Ads by Whilokii" advertisements when browsing the Internet, use the removal guide provided to eliminate this adware from your computer.
