How to use Windows 7 and Windows Vista System Restore?
System Restore is a feature that automatically makes a copy of system files and registry entries and lets you restore your operating system to a previous state. This feature is especially useful in multiple cases. For example windows restore could be useful if you have installed some program that made your computer really slow and you are unable to uninstall it. Various malware that infects your computer could damage system files in such situation windows system restore could help you out. You could also use this feature if you recently updated/installed hardware drivers and your computer became unstable. To sum up windows system restore is a very useful feature that can roll back recent changes that didn't went as planed.
Where do you find windows system restore feature?
Windows System Restore could be reached in several ways:
Click Windows Logo("Start") button and then in the Start menu search box you should enter "restore" (or you can enter "rstrui"). After this procedure you will see "System Restore" entry at the top of your Start Menu.

You can also perform following steps to reach windows system restore:
Click Windows Logo("Start") button -> Click Accessories -> System Tools -> select System Restore

You will see a windows system restore screen where you can choose from several options:

You can either restore your operating system by clicking "Recommended restore" or you can click "Choose a different restore point". If you click the second option you will be provided by a list of recently updated drivers etc. Choose which change you want to roll back, confirm and restart your computer.

Note: I recommend using windows system restore when your operating system is running in Safe Mode.
How to enter safe mode?
Click Start, click Shut down, click Restart, click OK. During your computer starting process press F8 key on your keyboard multiple times until you see Windows Advanced Option menu, then select Safe mode from the list.
