The Internet Crime Complaint Center message, stating that computer users' PCs are locked due to law violations, is a scam. This is a ransomware infection created by Cyber criminals to trick unsuspecting PC users into paying a bogus fine for supposed law infringements.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has no connection with this message - this screen locker was developed by cyber criminals in order to steal money from PC users. In order to scare PC users into believing that this message is legitimate ('threat of prosecution reminder'), cyber criminals exploit the name and graphics of an authority (in this case, IC3).

Ministrstvo Za Notranje Zadeve Policija is a ransomware infection targeting PC users from Slovenia. This deceptive screen locker originates from a family of ransomware called Urausy. Although the localized version targets Slovenian users, variants also target users from the USA, displaying the message in English and exploiting the name of the FBI.

This particular ransomware infection makes false statements - asserting that computer users have been downloading copyrighted content or watching pornography, and are thus obliged to pay a 100 Euro fine to unlock their PCs.

In fact, the Slovenian police have no connection with this message. It is a scam created by cyber criminals who make money from unsuspecting PC users who fall for their trickery and pay the bogus fine.

DealCabby is a browser add-on claiming to 'enhance' users' Internet browsing experience by displaying third party ads with various deals, coupons, and offers. This browser plug-in alone is not technically considered malware or a virus, however, it is categorized as an unwanted application, since it commonly installs on users' systems without their consent.

Stealth installations such as these may occur since many browser add-ons (including DealBuddy) are bundled with free software downloaded from the Internet. Free software developers often bundle their programs with browser toolbars and plug-ins for monetization purposes.

The add-on, which is installed on users' Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox, Google Chrome), is categorized as adware.

Most free software developers bundle their programs with one toolbar or plug-in, however, TornTV developers bundle theirs with several. Therefore, when computer users install TornTV, they will also install Babylon toolbar and Yontoo adware.

In fact, this message is not delivered from Slovakian police, it is a scam developed by cyber criminals. Infections that block computer screens, demanding users pay bogus fines, are called ransomware.

This particular screen locker originates from a family called Urausy. The deceptive message displayed by the Policajny Zbor Slovenskej Republiky virus states that you are required to pay the 100 Euro (or 2000 SKK) fine for supposedly committing law infringement (such as illegal downloads of copyrighted content, watching pornography, etc.)
