How to remove ManagementMark from Mac?
What is ManagementMark?
ManagementMark is a potentially unwanted application (PUA) that is classified as adware. However, its developers advertise it as a tool which provides services that help users to browse the Internet more efficiently. Adware is a type of software that serves advertisements and is often designed to gather browsing-related and other data. Typically, people download and install adware inadvertently (without intention to do so).
If installed, adware regularly displays various coupons, banners, surveys, pop-up ads and other intrusive content (ads) that conceals contents of websites that users of adware visit. Typically, those ads (if clicked) lead to untrustworthy, potentially malicious pages or they run scripts that cause downloads or even installations of unwanted apps. Also, apps like ManagementMark gather information related to user's browsing habits. For instance, IP addresses, entered search queries, addresses of opened/visited websites, geolocations, and so on. It is known that this particular app records sensitive data from websites that its users visit/use, such as credit card details, phone numbers, passwords, and other confidential information. Quite often adware developers misuse recorded details to generate revenue, besides, they often share them with third parties (potentially cyber criminals). By misusing information recorded with ManagementMark both parties might cause its users financial loss, problems with browsing safety, privacy, steal their identities, and so on. These are the main reasons why ManagementMark or any other adware should be uninstalled immediately.

In most cases adware-type applications are advertised as legitimate, useful, etc. However, not many of them provide any features/operate as they are advertised. More often than not apps of this type are the reason behind various problems and are designed only to serve ads and/or gather various information. Here are some examples of other software that is categorized as adware too: DiscoveryEngine, LogicalSearch and NeedWebSearch.
How did ManagementMark install on my computer?
As we mentioned in the introduction, most people do not install unwanted apps like adware on purpose, more often than not they get tricked into it. To achieve it, developers use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". To be more precise, they distribute PUAs by including them in setups of other software. In most cases offers to download and/or install additional apps can be found in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings of various download or installation setups. When people download or install software without checking any of those settings, they usually allow for included PUAs to be downloaded and installed together with that software. Additionally, unwanted downloads and installations can be caused through deceptive ads that, if clicked, execute scripts designed to download and/or install unwanted, potentially malicious apps.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
We do not recommend to download (or install) software through untrustworthy, unofficial websites, third party downloaders, installers, Peer-to-Peer networks like torrents, eMule, or other similar channels. The best way to download it is by using official, trustworthy websites and direct links for that. If a setup contains settings like "Custom", "Advanced", then we recommend to check them and dismiss offers to download or install additionally included, unwanted apps. Also, we recommend to avoid clicking intrusive ads, especially if such ads are displayed on questionable websites. Once clicked, those ads redirect people to various untrustworthy websites or download (or install) unwanted programs. To stop browsers from opening shady pages and/or displaying intrusive ads it is required to uninstall all suspicious, unwanted extensions, add-ons or plug-ins that are installed on them and programs of this kind that are installed on operating systems. If your computer is already infected with ManagementMark, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
