Feed.365-stream.com Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is feed.365-stream.com?
feed.365-stream.com is a fake search engine that is promoted using the 365Stream browser hijacker, a potentially unwanted application (PUA). Developers promote this app that supposedly provides access to the latest movie-related content directly from browsers.
It is categorized as a PUA, since most users install it unintentionally. Furthermore, it promotes a fake search engine and collects browsing-related and other data.
The 365Stream hijacker targets popular browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Once installed, it assigns the default search engine, new tab URL, and homepage settings to feed.365-stream.com. These changes may seem insignificant, but they cannot be undone as long as 365Stream is present.
This browser hijacker reassigns settings when attempts are made to change them. Therefore, users who have browsers infiltrated by this app are forced to visit feed.365-stream.com when a new tab or browser is opened. Redirects to this website will affect the browsing experience.
Furthermore, each search query entered into this fake search engine leads to a search.yahoo.com, a legitimate Yahoo search engine. Therefore, feed.365-stream.com displays results generated by Yahoo, thus rendering feed.365-stream.com pointless.
As mentioned in the introduction, 365Stream gathers browsing-related and other data such as IP addresses, search queries, URLs of visited websites, and personal details. 365Stream developers generate revenue by selling recorded data to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals who misuse it, also to make money).
These actions by browser hijacker developers and associated third parties can lead to privacy/browsing safety issues or even more serious problems such as identity theft. Do not use the feed.365-stream.com fake search engine and uninstall the 365Stream browser hijacker (and other similar apps) immediately.

The 365Stream app is very similar to other applications of this type including, for example, Recipe Network, Find My Route, Your Television Now, and many others. Developers promote these apps as 'useful' by offering various tools, features, and so on. These are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimacy and trick people into downloading/installing rogue software.
These apps deliver no real value for regular users or provide any of the functionality promised. Having this software installed can lead to problems relating to privacy and browsing safety, whilst developers use it to generate revenue.
How did 365Stream install on my computer?
365Stream can be downloaded from a website which is used to promote the software, however, most apps of this type are installed through intrusive advertisements or when developers use "bundling", a deceptive method used to trick users into installing apps such as 365Stream together with other regular software.
Software developers do not disclose information about the presence of unwanted apps within installation set-ups - they hide them in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings/options or the download/installation processes. Furthermore, many users skip installation/download steps without checking settings, thus inadvertently allowing unwanted apps to be installed.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Do not use third party software downloaders/installers. The best way to download software is by using official and trustworthy websites/sources. Install (and download) software with care, check "Custom", "Advanced" and other settings, deselect offers to install/download any unwanted apps, and only then finish the installation or download process.
Furthermore, avoid clicking intrusive advertisements - most seem legitimate, but untrustworthy/deceptive ads redirect users to potentially malicious websites such as gambling, pornography, adult dating, and so on. If you encounter these redirects (or ads that cause them), check installed extensions, plug-ins, and add-ons on your browser, and programs on your computer.
Uninstall/remove any unwanted, unknown, or suspicious entries immediately. If your computer is already infected with 365Stream, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this browser hijacker.
