Premiumbros[.]com pop-up ads removal instructions

What is premiumbros[.]com?

Similar to thenicenewz.com, leasedtohe.biz, news-central.org, fastcaptcharesolve.com, and countless others, premiumbros[.]com is an untrustworthy webpage. This site is designed to deliver questionable material and/or redirect visitors to rogue/malicious websites. Visitors rarely enter premiumbros[.]com and pages akin to it - intentionally. Most get redirected to them by intrusive advertisements or installed PUAs (Potentially Unwanted Applications). These apps do not require explicit permission to infiltrate devices; hence, users may be unaware of their presence. PUAs operate by causing redirects, running intrusive advert campaigns, and collecting browsing-related information.

premiumbros[.]com pop-up redirects

When premiumbros[.]com is accessed, it checks visitors' IP addresses - in order to learn their geolocations. This information determines the website's behavior. In other words, whether visitors are presented with dubious content and/or gets redirected elsewhere - depends on their geolocations. Furthermore, most rogue webpages use deceptive tactics (e.g., fake CAPTCHA verification, clickbait, etc.) to trick visitors into enabling their browser notifications. This is true of the premiumbros[.]com site as well. Should its notifications be allowed, the website will begin running intrusive advertisement campaigns. The ads delivered by premiumbros[.]com are not just a minor nuisance, they are also considered to be dangerous. Once clicked on, intrusive adverts redirect to untrustworthy, deceptive/scam, compromised, and malicious sites. Some of these advertisements can even be triggered (by being clicked on) to execute scripts designed to download/install software (e.g., PUAs) stealthily.

PUAs can have different heinous functionalities, and these functions can be in varied combinations. For example, these apps can force-open pages and/or deliver intrusive advert campaigns. What is more, PUAs usually have data tracking abilities. They can monitor browsing activity (URLs visited, webpages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and collect sensitive information extracted from it (IP addresses, geolocations, and personally identifiable details). PUA developers monetize the gathered data by sharing it with and/or selling it to third-parties, likewise intent on misusing it for financial gain. To summarize, presence of unwanted software on devices - can result in system infections, financial losses, serious privacy issues, and identity theft. To ensure device and user safety, all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins must be eliminated immediately upon detection.

PUAs seldom appear suspect, they tend to look legitimate and harmless. Users are lured into download/installation and/or purchase with offers of various "useful" functionalities. However, despite how good the features may sound, they rarely work as advertised; and in most cases - they do not work at all. Functionality and user safety are irrelevant as the only goal of unwanted apps is to generate revenue for the developers. Therefore, instead of delivering on any promises, PUAs can cause redirects, run intrusive ad campaigns, and track vulnerable and private data.

How did adware install on my computer?

PUAs are distributed via download/installation setups of other products. This deceptive marketing technique of packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions - is named "bundling". Rushed download/installation processes (e.g., ignored terms, used "Easy/Express" settings, etc.) increase the risk of inadvertently allowing bundled content into the system. When clicked on, intrusive adverts can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without user consent. Select PUAs have "official" promotional/download webpages.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

It is recommended to research products to verify their legitimacy before download/installation and/or purchase. Furthermore, all downloads must be done from official and trustworthy sources. Untrustworthy download channels, e.g., unofficial and free file-hosting websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks, and other third-party downloaders - commonly offer harmful and bundled content. Download and installation processes must be approached with care. That entails - reading terms, studying possible options, using the "Custom/Advanced" settings to decline download/installation of additional apps, tools, features, etc. Intrusive advertisements appear ordinary and innocuous; however, they redirect to various questionable sites (e.g., adult-dating, pornography, gambling, and many others). In case of encounters with ads and/or redirects of this kind, the system must be checked and all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins detected - immediately removed from it. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
