What is Deal_for_access?

Discovered by malware researcher Ravi, Deal_for_access is a malicious program classified as ransomware. Systems infected with this malware experience data encryption and users receive ransom demands for decryption.

Typically, during the encryption process, ransomware renames affected files, however, this is not the case with Deal_for_access (following encryption, filenames remain unchanged). After encryption is complete, a ransom message ("DEAL_FOR_ACCESS_TO_YOUR_FILES.txt") is dropped into compromised folders.
