Nuesearch.com Redrect

Also Known As: nuesearch.com browser hijacker
Damage level: Medium

What is nuesearch.com?

nuesearch.com is a dubious website that claims to be a legitimate Internet search engine. Judging on appearance alone, nuesearch.com may seem similar or identical to Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other legitimate sites.

Be aware, however, that developers promote nuesearch.com using dubious software 'installers' that modify browser settings without users' permission. Furthermore, nuesearch.com continually monitors users' web browsing activity.

nuesearch.com browser hijacker

Deceptive free software 'installers' modify the Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox new tab URL/homepage/default search engine settings by assigning them to nuesearch.com. Browser shortcuts are then modified. Rogue installation set-ups add nuesearch.com as an extension to the target of each existing browser shortcut.

Therefore, when users open the browser, a new browsing tab, or simply attempt to search the Internet, they are automatically redirected to nuesearch.com without their consent.

In addition, users are unable to roll back these modifications, since installed 'helper objects' (additional applications and/or browser extensions) automatically reassign settings when attempts are made attempt to change them.

Therefore, users are unable to return browsers to their previous states. Be aware that users' web browsing activity is continually monitored - nuesearch.com gathers various user/system information that might be personally identifiable. Examples include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, and search queries.

This recorded information is shared with third parties who often misuse private data to generate revenue. Therefore, data tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. If you continually encounter unwanted browser redirects to nuesearch.com, uninstall all recently-installed and/or suspicious apps and never visit this website again.

nuesearch.com is identical to youndoo.com, yessearches.com, maniihome.com, and tens of other bogus sites. By falsely claiming to enhance users' web browsing experience, websites such as nuesearch.com often trick users into believing that they are legitimate, however, none provide any real value for users.

nuesearch.com and other similar websites are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. Rather than providing the functionality promised, these bogus sites cause unwanted browser redirects and gather personally identifiable information.

How did nuesearch.com install on my computer?

nuesearch.com is generated using deceptive marketing method called 'bundling'. Research shows that many users rush the download/installation processes and do not pay enough attention. Aware of this, developers intentionally hide information regarding modification of browser options within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings of the download/installation processes.

By skipping this section, users often grant set-ups permission to modify various settings inadvertently. In doing so, they expose their systems to risk of various infections and threaten their privacy.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

The key to computer safety is caution. Never rush the download or installation processes. Closely analyze each step using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings and opt-out of all third party software listed for download/installation. Furthermore, never allow set-ups to modify settings that are irrelevant to the installation.
