NrPro Adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is NrPro?
NrPro is categorized as a potentially unwanted application (PUA) and adware. This app infiltrates computers without users' permission, gathers various information relating to browsing activity, and displays intrusive advertisements.
Following infiltration, NrPro gathers user-system information. In most cases, these adware-type apps gather IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, queries entered into search engines, geo-locations, and other similar data.
Recorded information might contain personal details that developers share with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse private data to generate revenue. Thus, having a data-tracking app installed on your computer can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. Another significant downside is the display of intrusive advertisements.
NrPro delivers pop-ups, banners, coupons, and other similar ads. These are likely to redirect to dubious websites and some even execute scripts that download and install other potentially unwanted applications or high-risk malware. Therefore, clicking them might result in various system infections.
Intrusive advertisements are displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, they often conceal underlying website content, significantly diminishing the browsing experience. For these reasons, NrPro adware should be uninstalled immediately.

The internet is full of adware-type applications, all of which are virtually identical. For example, ExpressDirections, YTLoader, and ZanyBrainyGames. By offering various "useful functions", developers attempt to give the impression of legitimacy, however, adware rarely provides the functions promised.
These apps have just one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers. Rather than enabling the functionality promised, adware-type apps deliver intrusive advertisements and gather information, thereby posing a direct threat to your privacy and browsing safety.
How did NrPro install on my computer?
As mentioned above, NrPro infiltrates systems without users' consent, however, unlike most adware-type apps, it is not distributed using intrusive advertisements or the "bundling" method (stealth installation of third party apps together with regular software).
Developers proliferate NrPro using other adware and use chain infections. Once adware infiltrates the computer, it downloads and installs NrPro. This happens without users knowledge. If NrPro has infiltrated your computer, other adware-type applications are likely to be present. Therefore, remove NrPro and all other dubious applications/browser plug-ins.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Lack of knowledge and careless behavior are the main reasons for computer infections. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, pay close attention when browsing the internet and downloading/installing software. Remember that intrusive advertisements often seem legitimate, since developers invest many resources into their design.
In fact, most redirect to dubious websites, such as gambling, adult dating, pornography, etc. These ads are delivered by adware-type apps. Therefore, if you encounter them, immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. Furthermore, select "Custom/Advanced" settings and carefully analyze each window of the download/installation dialogs.
Decline offers to download/install additional applications and opt-out of those already included. Your software should be downloaded from official sources only, using direct download links. Third party download/installation tools are often monetized using the "bundling" method (criminals proliferate unwanted applications).
Therefore, these tools should never be used. If your computer is already infected with NrPro, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this adware.
