Allneed.pro Ads

Also Known As: allneed.pro pop-up
Damage level: Medium

What is allneed[.]pro?

allneed[.]pro is one of many rogue websites that, once visited, opens other untrustworthy sites or displays dubious content. Examples of other websites of this type include feedmedia[.]me, tontorcaltedron[.]info, and torlock[.]com.

Most people arrive at allneed[.]pro unintentionally - they are redirected to the site by a potentially unwanted application (PUA) that is installed on the browser as an extension, plug-in, or add-on. Additionally, these PUAs usually serve users with ads and gather information relating to browsing habits.

allneed[.]pro pop-up redirects

If installed, the PUA regularly opens allneed[.]pro in a new browser window or tab. It then redirects visitors to 2-3 other dubious pages or displays deceptive, dubious content. These actions depend on the visitor's geolocation. In any case, there is high probability that one of the visited websites will contain malicious content.

Therefore, these unwanted redirects might lead to computer infections. Furthermore, PUAs deliver intrusive ads displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. The ads thus conceal underlying content of all or most visited websites. Another problem is that, once clicked, they cause redirects to untrustworthy (possibly malicious) websites.

Another possible scenario is that a clicked ad might execute a script designed to download and install a potentially malicious app. In addition, most apps of this type regularly collect data such as IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, entered search queries, geolocations, URLs of visited and other data, some of which might contain sensitive (personal) details.

Generally, all data is shared with third parties who misuse it to generate revenue. These are the three main reasons why all PUAs installed on browsers and operating systems should be removed immediately.

There are many PUAs on the Internet. Typically, developers promote them by offering "useful" tools and features, however, in most cases, they are simply used to generate revenue for the developers (and other parties), and deliver none of  the promoted functionality or any other value.

How did adware install on my computer?

In some cases, users can download potentially unwanted apps from so-called official websites, however, they are generally downloaded and installed by clicking intrusive ads or when software developers employ a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". Bundling is used to trick people into downloading/installing PUAs with other software.

Developers do not disclose information about the inclusion of unwanted apps into set-ups - they hide it in "Custom", "Advanced", "Manual" or other similar parts of the download/installation set-ups. Therefore, unintentional downloads and installations usually happen when users leave these settings unchanged or when they click deceptive ads.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

Download software from official and trustworthy sources, especially if it is free. Avoid using third party downloaders/installers, torrent clients, eMule (other Peer-to-Peer networks) or other similar channels to download or install software (or files). Furthermore, download and install software with care.

Study each download/installation setup and check "Advanced", "Custom" and other similar settings/options. Opt-out of unwanted apps (offers to install or download them) and only then finish the download or installation process. Many intrusive ads appear legitimate, however, once clicked, they redirect to untrustworthy websites.

These ads are usually displayed on pages relating to gambling, pornography, adult dating, and so on. Therefore, do not click them.

If unwanted ads or redirects occur often, check your browser for unwanted entries (extensions, plug-ins, add-ons, etc.) and remove them immediately. The same applies to programs installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?

Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.

Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
