What is "DHL Package Delivery Failed" scam?

We examined this email and found it to be a phishing scam impersonating DHL Express. The message falsely claims that a package delivery attempt failed due to an incorrect address and urges recipients to click a link to reschedule. That link leads to a fake login page designed to steal email credentials. This email should be ignored and deleted.

"DHL Package Delivery Failed" email scam overview

The email poses as an official DHL Express notification, claiming that a delivery attempt was unsuccessful because the recipient's address is incorrect.

To resolve the supposed issue, recipients are urged to click a "Reshedule Delivery" button to correct their address and book a new delivery date. The misspelling in that button label is a common indicator of fraudulent email.

Clicking the button opens a fake website at dh-lsys.vercel[.]app that is designed to resemble a DHL login portal. The page displays the DHL logo and prompts visitors to enter their email address and password to "View & Complete Tracking Details."

Any credentials entered there go directly to the scammers. With a stolen email account, cybercriminals can hijack it, use it to send further scam messages, access linked services, and attempt to reset passwords for banking or other online platforms.

DHL International GmbH is not associated with this scam in any way. Fraudsters simply exploit the company's name and branding to make their emails appear legitimate.

For example, if you received an email from Microsoft, be sure to check if the email address is @microsoft.com and not something suspicious like @m1crosoft.com, @microsfot.com, @account-security-noreply.com, etc.
• Check for generic greetings: If the greeting in the email is "Dear user", "Dear @youremail.com", "Dear valued customer", this should raise suspiciousness. Most commonly, companies call you by your name. Lack of this information could signal a phishing attempt.
