Terminate redirects to and from the clickpush.biz website

Also Known As: clickpush.biz pop-up
Damage level: Medium

What is clickpush[.]biz?

clickpush[.]biz is yet another rogue website that shares many similarities with allowpush.club, viralupdatestoday.com, central-messages.com, and a number of other rogue sites. The purpose of this website is to feed visitors with dubious content and redirect them to other rogue sites.

Many visitors arrive at clickpush[.]biz inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive advertisements encountered on other sites. PUAs infiltrate computers without permission. As well as causing redirects, they deliver intrusive advertisements and gather information relating to browsing activity.

clickpush[.]biz pop-up redirects

After successful infiltration, PUAs force-open new browser tabs/windows and redirect visitors to clickpush[.]biz. This site then immediately checks the visitor's IP address to determine the geolocation. This is to ascertain whether the user should be redirected elsewhere or presented with certain dubious content.

In any case, users might end up encountering malicious content (delivered by clickpush[.]biz or other dubious sites). Therefore, redirects to and from clickpush[.]biz can lead to various system infections. The same applies to intrusive advertisements. Potentially unwanted applications deliver coupons, banners, pop-ups, and other similar advertisements.

These often redirect to dubious websites and, in some cases, they execute scripts designed to download/install other PUAs. Thus, even a single accidental click can result in computer infections. Note that intrusive advertisements are delivered using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site.

Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Another important issue is information tracking. Most unwanted applications record data such as IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar details.

The data is shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue in malicious ways. Therefore, data tracking might lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. For these reasons, uninstall all PUAs immediately.

The internet is full of PUAs, all of which are virtually identical. By offering "useful features", unwanted applications attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick user to install. In fact, these programs have just one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers.

They provide no real value for regular users, cause unwanted redirects, gather information, and deliver intrusive advertisements.

How did adware install on my computer?

Potentially unwanted applications usually infiltrate computers without users’ permission. Developers proliferate these applications via intrusive advertisements and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" (stealth installation of third party applications together with regular software).

Developers hide "bundled" applications behind "Custom/Advanced" settings or other sections of the download/installation processes - they do not adequately disclose this information. Furthermore, many users often rush these processes and skip steps.

Additionally, they click various advertisements without understanding the possible consequences. This behavior often leads to inadvertent installation of third party applications.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge of these threats and careless behavior. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, pay attention when browsing the Internet and downloading/installing software. Study each step of the download/installation processes using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings.

Opt-out of additionally-included applications and decline offers to download/install them. Avoid using third party downloaders/installers, since most are monetized using the "bundling" method. Software should be downloaded from official sources only, preferably using direct download links.

Third party downloaders/installers often include rogue applications, and thus these tools should never be used. Intrusive advertisements usually seem legitimate. Once clicked, however, they redirect to dubious websites (gambling, pornography, adult dating, and similar).

Therefore, if you encounter such ads/redirects, uninstall all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?

Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.

Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
