MessengerHub Adware removal instructions
What is MessengerHub?
MessengerHub is advertised as instant messaging application which includes video chat feature. However, after installation it starts to serve various advertisements. Therefore, MessengerHub is classified as adware. It is worthwhile to mention that users often download and install adware accidentally (inadvertently), therefore, programs of this type are also known as potentially unwanted applications (PUAs). Another detail about adware-type programs is that they can be designed to collect various information.
In most cases applications like MessengerHub feed users with coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups, and other types of advertisements. If clicked, they tend to open various untrustworthy web pages. In some cases adware-type apps serve ads designed to run certain scripts that cause downloads and/or installations of unwanted, potentially malicious software. Furthermore, it is likely that MessengerHub collects various data related to user's browsing habits too. More often than not such apps target IP addresses, geolocations, entered search queries, addresses of visited websites an other browsing data. However, there is always a possibility that installed adware could collect personal, sensitive details too. Either way, gathered data might be sold to third parties (potentially cyber criminals) who could misuse it to generate revenue in some other ways. Users who have MessengerHub or any other adware installed on browsers and/or operating systems risk to become victims of identity theft, experience problems related to web browsing safety, online privacy, and other issues. Therefore, it is recommended to uninstall any installed adware as soon as possible.

MessengerDeck, MessengerTime and MessengerNow are a couple examples of other adware-type applications that are very similar or even identical to MessengerHub. What most programs oft his type have in common is that they generate revenue for their developers by serving advertisements. Also, many of them function as information tracking tools. In one way or another, such software can cause its users various problems. Therefore, it is recommended not to have any adware (or other PUAs) installed on a browser and/or computer.
How did adware install on my computer?
It is common that adware is distributed by including it in download, installation setups of other programs. This distribution method of PUAs is called "bundling". Typically, offers to download and/or install apps like MessengerHub can be found in settings of setups like "Custom", "Advanced", "Manual". However, users often download and install programs without checking (and changing) any settings, by leaving those settings unchanged they allow for included apps to be downloaded and/or installed alongside with wanted programs. Sometimes unwanted downloads, installations can be caused by clicking deceptive ads that are designed to execute certain scripts.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Third party downloaders, installers, Peer-to-Peer networks (such as torrent clients, eMule, etc.), unofficial pages and other sources, channels should not be used as tools to download or install software or files. They should be downloaded only from official pages and via direct links. Furthermore, setups that contain settings (like "Custom", "Advanced", "Manual") should be checked for offers to download and/or install PUAs. Those offers should be declined before completing downloads and installations. Intrusive advertisements that appear on shady pages should not be clicked. Such ads can open unreliable websites or cause downloads, installations of various PUAs. If there are any unknown, suspicious, plug-ins, add-ons, extensions already installed on a browser or programs of this kind installed on the operating system, then they should be uninstalled right away. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
