Remove apps that open onlybestpushnews.com or other similar sites

Also Known As: Ads by onlybestpushnews.com
Damage level: Medium

What is onlybestpushnews[.]com?

Like most websites of this type, onlybestpushnews[.]com promotes and opens various untrusted websites or loads dubious content. Some examples of other pages similar to onlybestpushnews[.]com are click-to-watch[.]live, bestdealfor21[.]life and cvazirouse[.]com.

Generally, users do not visit these sites intentionally - browsers are forced to open them by installed potentially unwanted applications (PUAs). Note that PUAs can also gather browsing data and feed users with advertisements.

onlybestpushnews[.]com pop-up redirects

Usually, PUAs open addresses such as onlybestpushnews[.]com in new windows or tabs. When visited, the sites load dubious content or open about two or three other web pages of this kind (this depends on users' geolocations).

Furthermore, onlybestpushnews[.]com and similar sites often attempt to trick visitors into allowing them to show notifications using 'clickbait' techniques - onlybestpushnews[.]com suggests that visitors must prove that they are not robots by clicking the "Allow" button.

Clicking this button allows onlybestpushnews[.]com to show notifications, which might contain deceptive advertisements, links to untrusted web pages, and other dubious content. Furthermore, PUAs often feed users with coupons, surveys, banners, pop-ups and other advertisements.

These ads open untrusted web pages, and can cause unwanted downloads/installations by executing certain scripts. Therefore, do not click them. PUAs often collect browsing data such as IP addresses, geolocations, addresses of visited pages, entered search queries, and other browsing-related information.

Note that some PUAs are capable of recording sensitive details as well. The developers sell the details to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) or misuse them to generate revenue in other ways. Therefore, having these applications installed on browsers and/or computers can cause problems relating to privacy, browsing safety or even identity theft.

All existing PUAs should be uninstalled immediately and avoided in future.

These apps are often advertised as useful and supposedly deliver various features, improve the browsing experience, and so on. In fact, most do not operate as advertised. They are designed only to help the developers to generate revenue by forcing users to visit dubious pages, gathering browsing data and other details, and serving intrusive advertisements.

To avoid problems, remove all PUAs from browsers and operating systems immediately.

How did adware install on my computer?

Users are often deceived into downloading and installing PUAs when they are included into the download/installation set-ups of other programs as extra offers. These offers can be found (and declined) in "Advanced", "Custom" or other settings, however, many users fail to check these and leave the settings unchanged.

Leaving default settings unchanged allows PUAs to be downloaded and installed together with the required software. Additionally, these downloads and installations can be caused through clicking deceptive ads that run certain scripts.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications

It is not safe to download or install software/files through third party downloaders, installers, Peer-to-Peer networks such as eMule, torrent clients, untrusted websites, etc. These channels often distribute unwanted, potentially malicious programs. You are advised to download files and programs only from official websites and via direct links.

Check all "Custom" and "Advanced" settings, and decline offers to download or install PUAs before completing the process. Do not click advertisements that appear on dubious web pages, since they can open other untrusted websites and can cause download/installation of PUAs.

Remove any unwanted extensions, add-ons and plug-ins installed on the browser immediately. The same should be applied to programs of this kind that are installed on the computer. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?

Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.

Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
