Caravane-plantes[.]com redirect removal instructions
What is caravane-plantes[.]com?
Sharing similar traits with jioer.pro, mybestnewz.com, beforeigntools.club and countless others, caravane-plantes[.]com is an untrustworthy website. When this site is visited, users are presented with questionable content and/or are redirected to other unreliable, or possibly malicious webpages. Typically, caravane-plantes[.]com and websites similar to it - are accessed via redirects caused by intrusive ads or by PUAs (Potentially Unwanted Applications), already installed onto the system. These apps do not require explicit user consent to be installed onto devices. PUAs are designed to cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisement campaigns and collect browsing-related data.
Visitor's geolocation is key to determining caravane-plantes[.]com webpage's behavior. It learns this information by checking visitors' IP (Internet Protocol) addresses. To elaborate, whether users visiting caravane-plantes[.]com are redirected elsewhere and/or are presented with dubious material - depends on their geolocations. Furthermore, this site uses browser notifications. The page urges users to click the "Allow" button to continue, however this is merely to trick them into enabling the notifications. Should users enable the website's notifications, caravane-plantes[.]com will begin delivering intrusive advert campaigns. Aside from diminishing the browsing quality, the delivered advertisements pose a threat to device/user safety. Once clicked on, intrusive ads redirect to a variety of untrustworthy and malicious webpages. Some of these adverts can even be triggered (by being clicked on) to execute scripts to stealthily download/install software (e.g. PUAs). Unwanted apps can cause redirects and/or run intrusive ad campaigns. What is more, most PUAs have data tracking abilities. They can record browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and collect personal information inferred from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). The gathered data is then monetized by being shared with and/or sold to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals). To summarize, presence of unwanted software on devices can result in system infections, severe privacy issues, financial losses and even identity theft. Therefore, it is highly recommended to remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins without delay.

PUAs rarely appear suspect, they tend to look legitimate and harmless. They entice users into download/installation and/or purchase with offers of various "handy" functionalities. However, the advertised features are usually nonoperational. Functionality and user safety are irrelevant, since the only goal of PUAs is to generate profit for the developers. Instead of delivering on any promises, these applications can cause redirects, run intrusive ad campaigns and collect private information.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs are distributed through download/installation setups of other products. This deceptive marketing method of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions - is called "bundling". Rushed downloads/installations (e.g. ignored terms, skipped steps and sections, used "Easy/Express" settings, etc.) - increase the risk of inadvertently allowing bundled content into the system. Intrusive adverts proliferate PUAs as well. Once clicked on, the ads can execute scripts to download/install these applications without user permission. Some PUAs have "official" promotional webpages, from which they can be downloaded.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
It is strongly advised to research products to verify their legitimacy, prior to download/installation and/or purchase. All downloads should be done only from official and trustworthy sources. Since dubious download channels, e.g. unofficial and free file-hosting websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks and other third party downloaders - commonly offer dangerous and/or bundled content. When downloading/installing, it is recommended to read terms, study all available options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out from supplementary apps, tools, features and other additions. It is just as important to exercise caution when browsing. Intrusive advertisements typically appear legitimate, however they redirect to highly questionable sites (e.g. gambling, adult-dating, pornography, etc.). In case of encounters with such ads and/or redirects, the system must be inspected and all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins detected - immediately removed from it. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
