What is RR Savings?
Developed by ADPeak Inc, RR Savings is a browser plug-in claiming to save time and money when shopping online by displaying best deals available, enabling coupons, and other functions. Although this may seem a legitimate add-on, be aware that this plug-in considered to be adware or a potentially unwanted application.
RR Savings is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. It uses a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of additional applications together with the chosen software.
Therefore, Internet users often install RR Savings without their consent during download of free software within freeware download websites such as soft32.com, download.com, softonic.com, and many others.
Following successful infiltration, RR Savings monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording various hardware and software information including IP addresses, operating systems, browser types, and other similar information.
This behavior may lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft. Furthermore, the plug-in generates intrusive online advertisements such as shopping comparison, transitional, in-text, banner ads, and also converts words within websites into hyperlinks (which link to advertisements such as, for example, nav-links, and InterYield).
Clicking these advertisements may cause high-risk malware infections. In fact, this browser extension adds no real value for the user, diminishes Internet browser performance, and may cause serious computer infections. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to eliminate it from your Internet browsers.
Most adware such as RR Savings is distributed together with free software available on the Internet, and therefore, you should express caution when downloading and installing freeware.
To prevent installation of RR Savings, or other similar applications (for example, Supra Savings, SmartSaver, and BaseFlash), inspect each step during the download of free software and click the 'Decline' button when installation of any additional programs is offered.
If you are installing downloaded software, select the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Regular' or 'Quick' - this will reveal any bundled applications attempting to infiltrate your computer, and you will be able to opt out.
Users who have already installed RR Savings and observe random unwanted online advertisements while browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate RR Savings adware from their Internet browsers.
