What is Speedial.com?
The Speedial browser toolbar (compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) claims to enhance users' browsing experience by displaying quick access links to popular social networking websites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and improve the overall Internet search and browsing experience.
While such functionality may seem legitimate and useful, many computer users refer to Speedial as a redirect virus or a browser hijacker.
These associations are made since the Speedial toolbar is promoted via free software downloads using a software distribution (marketing) method called 'bundling'. The Speedial toolbar is installed on users' browsers during download or installation of legitimate free software using 'download clients' or 'installers'.
Today, many popular download websites including download.com, soft32.com, and softonic.com employ download clients to manage and monetize freeware download. When downloading free programs from these websites, Internet users are offered (sometimes in a deceptive manner) installation of additional programs such as toolbars, browser add-ons, etc.
Installation of these promoted programs and browser extensions often results in privacy issues, or in the case of Speedial, unwanted browser redirects.
The Speedial toolbar is related to Montera technologies products. Previous unwanted browser toolbars developed by this company redirect Internet users to max-start.com, tika-search.com, enhanced-search.com, and other websites, which present users with deceptive ads and search engines returning misleading sponsored search results.
The speedial.com website poses no direct virus or malware threats, however, visitors to this site are mostly redirected to it without their consent.
Furthermore, the Speedial browser hijacker is known to track users' geo-locations, IP addresses, browser types, operating system types, default search providers, Hard Driver serial numbers, and other hardware and software information. Using this website for your daily Internet searches may lead to malware infections and identity theft.
If you feel that speedial.com was set as your homepage, default search engine, and search provider within a new tab without your consent, use this removal guide to eliminate these issues.

A browser hijacker is a type of adware infection that modifies Internet browser settings by assigning the homepage and default Internet search engine settings to some other (unwanted) website URL. Commonly, this type of adware infiltrates operating systems through free software downloads. If your download is managed by a download client, ensure that you decline offers to install advertised toolbars or applications that seek to change your homepage and default Internet search engine settings.
