What is zap tilla?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, zap tilla is a rogue browser add-on, which promises to enhance users' Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and adding other useful features. This may seem a legitimate browser extension, however, be aware that zap tilla is considered to be a potentially unwanted application or adware.
This rogue browser plug-in employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional applications together with the chosen software) to install on Internet browsers without users' permission.
After successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, zap tilla monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording diverse software and hardware information, which may be personally identifiable.
For example: entered search queries, URLs visited, pages viewed, unique identifier numbers, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, and other similar details. This behavior may lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft.
In addition, zap tilla adware generates various intrusive online advertisements including text-link, banner, search, interstitial, transitional, and full-page ads. There is a high probability that clicking these ads will lead to high-risk adware or malware infections, and therefore, you are strongly advised to eliminate zap tilla from your Internet browsers.
SuperWeb LLC has released several hundred rogue browser plug-ins identical to zap tilla such as Qualitink, Webget, and Sizlsearch. Neither zap tilla, nor any other of these other add-ons, provide any real value for the user.
This company releases identical browser plug-ins under different names with the intention of avoiding detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus programs. The main purpose of potentially unwanted browser extensions such as zap tilla, is to generate income by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Internet users often inadvertently infect their PCs with adware when downloading free software via small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites (such as soft32.com, download.com, and softonic.com).
Most freeware download websites use download clients to monetize their free services by offering installation of advertised browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be prevented by closely inspecting each step of the freeware download process and clicking the 'Decline" button when installation of any additional applications is offered.
Internet users who install downloaded software should select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options - this will reveal any additional applications listed for installation with the chosen freeware and allow removal of them.
If you have already installed zap tilla and observe "Ads by zap tilla", "zap tilla Deals", and "Powered by zap tilla" advertisements when surfing the Internet, follow this removal guide to eliminate zap tilla adware from your Internet browsers.
