PayYou removal instructions
What is PayYou?
PayYou is a dubious application claiming to be a legitimate Internet browser, which pays money for browsing the Internet. Some users may find this functionality legitimate and useful, however, PayYou is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP). The main reason for these negative associations is a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' employed by the developers (Kromtech Alliance Corp.) to distribute the PayYou application. After successful installation without users' consent, PayYou generates intrusive online advertisements (typically banners, pop-ups, and in-text links) that often redirect to bogus websites. These sites may contain infectious content, thereby exposing your computer to risk of infection.
PayYou collects various information (geolocations, IP/MAC addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, browsing history, etc.) that may contain personally identifiable details. This information tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. PayYou is similar or identical to other rogue adware-type applications claiming to provide useful features. For example, Coupons Vault, OpenBrowserVersion, Shopper-z, and ShoppinGate also claim to save time and money when shopping online. In fact, they simply cause unwanted browser redirects, display intrusive online ads, and share collected data with third parties to generate revenue. For these reasons, PayYou adware should be uninstalled from your system immediately.
At time of research, most adware-type add-ons were distributed using small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites such as softonic.com, download.com, and soft32.com. Download clients are used by these websites as traffic and free services monetization tools, since they offer installation of third party apps together with the chosen software. These promoted applications are often described as '100% legitimate and virus-free', however, most are categorized as adware or malware. To avoid computer infections, closely analyse each step of the free software download procedure and never accept offers to install additional programs. Furthermore, install applications downloaded from the Internet using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any bundled apps listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed PayYou, the following removal guide will help you to eliminate this PUP from your system.
