KOOL Player Adware

What is KOOL Player?
KOOL Player is a deceptive application that claims to be a top audio/video player. Judging on appearance alone, KOOL Player may seem legitimate and useful, however, this app is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
There are several reasons for these negative associations: 1) KOOL Player infiltrates systems without permission; 2) KOOL Player "bundles" other PUPs, and; 3) KOOL Player collects personally identifiable data and/or displays intrusive ads.
This potentially unwanted program is designed to proliferate other PUPs. While installing, KOOL Player includes other unwanted software (e.g., browser hijackers). This is performed without users' consent. As with installed apps, KOOL Player might also collect various user-system information that typically includes personal details.
IP addresses, geo-locations, website URLs visited, pages viewed, queries entered into search engines, keystrokes, and other collected data is sold to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse private data to generate revenue. Therefore, data tracking might lead to serious privacy issues.
There is also a high probability that this PUP will generate intrusive ads (coupons, banners, pop-ups, etc.) Intrusive advertisements overlay visited website content (thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience), but might also lead to malicious websites and/or execute scripts that stealthily install malware/PUPs.
Thus, even accidental clicks can result in various computer infections. In addition, PUPs proliferated by KOOL Player often mine cryptocurrencies or run other unwanted processes in the background, thereby significantly reducing overall system performance. Therefore, eliminate KOOL Player and other recently-installed, suspicious applications immediately.

There are hundreds of potentially unwanted programs, all of which are virtually identical. As with KOOL Player, they offer various "valuable features" (e.g., file conversion, high-performance download, system optimization, anti-virus, etc.) In fact, these programs give no real value for regular users.
PUPs are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. Rather than providing features promised, they pose a direct threat to your privacy and Internet browsing safety.
How did KOOL Player install on my computer?
Research shows that developers proliferate KOOL Player using various malicious websites that display intrusive pop-ups claiming that installing this program is vital to correctly play various media. Many users lack enough knowledge and caution, and often click various advertisements and download files/software without considering the possible consequences.
In doing so, they expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy. As mentioned above, KOOL Player "bundles" other PUPs. "Bundling" is stealth installation of third party applications. Developers hide "bundled" apps within the "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of the download/installation processes.
Many users are likely to rush these procedures and skip steps, often leading to inadvertent installation of rogue software.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to computer safety is caution. Therefore, pay close attention when browsing the Internet and, especially, downloading/installing software. Be aware that many intrusive ads look genuine, since cyber criminals invest many resources into their design.
In fact, these ads redirect to various dubious websites (gambling, adult dating, pornography, etc.) If you experience these redirects, immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. In addition, carefully analyze each window of the download/installation dialogues and opt-out of all additionally-included programs.
Avoid using any third party download/installation tools, since they are likely to include potentially unwanted programs (criminals monetize these tools using the "bundling" method).
