Estinctwexforda.info POP-UP Redirect

Also Known As: estinctwexforda.info pop-up
Type: Adware
Damage level: Medium

What is estinctwexforda.info?

estinctwexforda.info is very similar to many other websites of this type including supervicesfun.clubenewssubspush.info, and efishedo.info. This rogue website is designed to redirect visitors to other untrustworthy sites or display dubious, deceptive content.

Most people visit this website unintentionally - they are redirected by installed potentially unwanted applications (PUAs). Few users install these apps willingly. PUAs force users to visit dubious websites, display various ads, and collect information.

estinctwexforda.info pop-up

When installed, PUAs begin to randomly open estinctwexforda.info in new browser windows or tabs. The website then displays dubious content or might cause additional redirects to two or three other untrustworthy websites (which could be malicious). The way this website operates depends on the visitor's geo-location.

Note that redirects to and from estinctwexforda.info can result in various computer infections. This is not the only problem with having these apps installed. PUAs deliver advertisements, such as coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups, and so on.

If clicked, they can also open untrustworthy (potentially, malicious) websites or run scripts designed to download/install other unwanted apps. PUAs display these annoying ads using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, they conceal underlying content of any visited websites.

Furthermore, having unwanted apps of this type installed might cause privacy/browsing safety problems or even identity theft. PUAs often collect data that developers share with other parties (potentially, cyber criminals).

PUAs usually record search queries, geo-locations, IP addresses, URLs of visited websites, and so on. Some of the information might be personal or sensitive. Therefore, uninstall all PUAs immediately.

Generally, PUA developers promote these apps as useful by offering tools, features, and other advantages, however, once installed, they provide none of the functions promised.

PUAs are designed only to cause unwanted redirects, deliver ads, and to perform other actions that help developers to generate revenue. Furthermore, having these apps installed can lead to a number of serious problems.

How did adware install on my computer?

PUAs can be downloaded from their websites, however, people mostly install them inadvertently through intrusive ads or during installation/download of other software. Developers often use the "bundling" method to trick users into stealthily downloading/installing potentially unwanted apps with other regular software.

They do not properly disclose information regarding the inclusion of unwanted apps and hide them in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings/options of the download or installation set-ups. Furthermore, many users download and install software without checking available installation options (or they click intrusive ads), thereby allowing various PUAs to be installed.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

Be careful when downloading or installing software, especially if it is free (or ad-supportive). Do not skip download/installation steps without checking all included checkboxes or "Custom"/"Advanced" options and settings. Deselect offers to install unwanted extra software/applications and only then finish the installation or download procedure.

Do not download software from untrustworthy (unofficial) websites, using third party downloaders, torrent clients, eMule, or other Peer-to-Peer networks. Use only direct links and trustworthy, official sources (websites).

Avoid clicking intrusive ads - these may seem legitimate, however, they often redirect users to untrustworthy, potentially malicious websites such as gambling, pornography, adult dating, etc. If you encounter these ads and are redirected to unwanted websites, check for unwanted/unknown applications (extensions, plug-ins, and add-ons) installed on the default browser.

Uninstall all suspicious, unwanted apps immediately. The same applies to programs installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
