What is hp.myway.com?
EntertainmentNewsNow is one of many apps designed by Mindspark Interactive Network. This particular app supposedly provides the latest entertainment news, however, it is a potentially unwanted application (PUA), a browser hijacker that changes browser settings to promote the hp.myway.com fake search engine.
Typically, browser hijackers also gather information relating to users. In most cases, people download and install apps such as EntertainmentNewsNow unintentionally when they are tricked.
Generally, browser hijackers can be installed on browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. After installation, they change settings such as the default search engine, homepage, and new tab URL. EntertainmentNewsNow assigns them to hp.myway.com.
In most cases, it is impossible to undo any of these settings unless the browser hijacker is uninstalled. Therefore, people with browsers hijacked by an app of this type are forced to visit a specific web address (in this case, hp.myway.com) when they open a browser, new tab, or enter search queries into the URL bar.
Most browser hijackers collect various user details such as IP addresses, addresses of visited websites, entered search queries, geolocations, and other browsing-related information. Some of these apps could also be designed to gather sensitive/private information.
Designers of the browser hijacker share the data with third parties who misuse it to generate revenue. In some cases, the information is shared with cyber criminals. By misusing the information, they cause problems for users with browsing safety, privacy, and so on. Furthermore, it is possible that the data could be misused to steal users' identities.
You are strongly advised against the use of apps such as EntertainmentNewsNow (and fake search engines). Uninstall them immediately.

EntertainmentNewsNow is similar to many other browser hijackers. Some examples are GetFlightUpdates, GiffySocial, and MyVedicTab. Typically, these apps are used to promote fake search engines and record information. Few provide any useful features and are designed only to generate revenue for their developers.
How did EntertainmentNewsNow install on my computer?
Typically, unwanted apps are distributed through intrusive ads and the set-ups of other programs. If clicked, some ads download/install unwanted apps. They do this by running certain scripts. In other cases, people download/install PUAs when they leave settings such as "Custom", "Advanced", and others available in set-ups, unchanged.
Developers commonly include unwanted apps in various download or installation set-ups and hide information about the inclusion of PUAs in the settings. This deceptive marketing method used to distribute PUAs is called "bundling".
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
To avoid unwanted downloads, installations, and changes to browser settings, download software only from official websites. Other channels/tools such as third party installers, downloaders, unofficial pages, Peer-to-Peer networks (torrent clients, eMule), etc., should not be used.
Inspect each download or installation setup and check for settings such as "Custom", "Advanced", etc. Dismiss any offers to download or install unwanted programs. Intrusive advertisements often cause redirects to dubious websites. These ads are commonly displayed on dubious web pages relating to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and so on.
If the browser opens dubious web pages and/or display intrusive ads, remove unwanted extensions, plug-ins, and add-ons that are installed. Also remove any unwanted software installed on the operating system.
