TV Streaming Online browser hijacker removal instructions
What is TV Streaming Online?
TV Streaming Online is one of many applications that gather browsing data and promote a fake search engine (in this case, search.watch-tvlivetab.com) by changing browser settings. Apps of this type are classed as browser hijackers and potentially unwanted applications (PUAs), since people usually download and install them unintentionally. Research shows that TV Streaming Online is installed together with Hide My Searches (another PUA).
As its name suggests, TV Streaming Online supposedly provides quick access to various TV streaming websites. After installation, however, it changes browser settings (such as the address of the homepage, default search engine and new tab) to search.watch-tvlivetab.com. This is the address of a fake search engine, which does not generate any unique results. If used, it simply provides results generated by Yahoo (it redirects to search.yahoo.com). Users of TV Streaming Online are thus forced to visit search.watch-tvlivetab.com when they open a hijacker browser, new tab or enter search queries into the URL bar. Generally, the only way to remove the address of a fake search engine from the aforementioned settings (or change the address) is to uninstall the browser hijacker that originally modified the settings. Unfortunately, this is not the only problem with installed browser hijackers. Typically, they gather various information including, for example, entered search queries, addresses of visited pages, IP addresses, geolocations, and other browsing data. Some might also be designed to collect personal, sensitive details. People behind browser hijackers often sell the data to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue. These actions put users at risk of problems relating to browsing safety, online privacy or even identity theft. Therefore, do not download or install these browser hijackers. If TV Streaming Online, Hide My Searches or other PUAs are already installed on the browser and/or computer, remove them immediately.

Some examples of other apps also categorized as browser hijackers are TV Fans Online Tab, Directions and Maps Now and Multy App. They are commonly advertised as useful and legitimate, and supposedly deliver various features (such as quick access to TV streaming pages), however, most are useless and simply cause problems. Therefore, never trust or use these PUAs.
How did TV Streaming Online install on my computer?
Unintentional downloads/installations are caused through deceptive ads and the set-ups of free software. If clicked, some deceptive ads execute scripts designed to cause download/installation of unwanted applications. People often download/install PUAs through software setups when they are included as additional offers. These offers can usually be found in "Custom" or "Advanced" settings, however, people often leave these unchanged, thus allowing PUAs to be downloaded and/or installed with regular software. This distribution method of unwanted software is called "bundling".
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Software should not be downloaded or installed through third party downloaders/installers, Peer-to-Peer networks such as eMule, torrent clients, unofficial pages, and so on. Download using only official websites and direct download links. If a setup contains "Custom", "Advanced" or other similar settings, do not leave them unchecked, since they often contain offers to download or install unwanted software. Dismiss any such offers before completing the download or installation process. Intrusive ads (especially those displayed on dubious web pages) often redirect to potentially untrustworthy sites or download/install unwanted apps. Therefore, do not trust or click them. Uninstall all unwanted extensions, plug-ins and add-ons from the browser, and programs of this type from the computer. If your computer is already infected with TV Streaming Online, we recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows to automatically eliminate this browser hijacker.

A browser hijacker is a type of adware infection that modifies Internet browser settings by assigning the homepage and default Internet search engine settings to some other (unwanted) website URL. Commonly, this type of adware infiltrates operating systems through free software downloads. If your download is managed by a download client, ensure that you decline offers to install advertised toolbars or applications that seek to change your homepage and default Internet search engine settings.
