How to stop redirects to and from creditcable.info
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is creditcable[.]info?
Sharing many similarities with betanews.me, sms-mail-message.com, fastnewstream.com and countless others, creditcable[.]info is a rogue website. Visitors to it are presented with dubious content and/or redirected to other untrustworthy, even malicious sites.
Few users enter creditcable[.]info intentionally - they are redirected by intrusive advertisements or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs) already installed on the system. Note that these apps do not need express permission to infiltrate devices. PUAs operate by generating redirects, running intrusive ad campaigns and monitoring users' browsing habits.
When accessed, creditcable[.]info first checks visitors' IP addresses to learn their geolocations. This information is crucial in determining its behavior. Whether users are presented with dubious material and/or redirected elsewhere depends on their geolocations.
Furthermore, creditcable[.]info urges visitors to allow browser notifications using 'clickbait' ("Download Is Ready / click Allow to download your file"). If the notifications are enabled, the web page then starts delivering intrusive advertisements (e.g. pop-ups, banners, surveys, coupons, etc.).
As well as diminishing the browsing experience by slowing down browsing and limiting website visibility (overlaying page content), the resultant ads are a threat to device/user safety. Once an intrusive ad is clicked, it can redirect to sale-based, untrustworthy/rogue, compromised, deceptive/scam or even malicious sites.
Some can execute scripts designed to stealthily download/install unwanted content. A prime example of content infiltrated in this fashion are PUAs. As mentioned, unwanted applications can force-open similarly harmful pages and run intrusive advertisement campaigns.
Regardless of their specific capabilities, PUAs can track data, recording users' browsing activity (URLs visited, search queries typed, etc.) and personal information (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). This vulnerable data can then be shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) seeking to misuse it for profit.
In summary, the presence of PUAs on systems can cause various infiltration and infections, lead to serious privacy issues, financial loss and even identity theft. To ensure device integrity and user safety, you are advised to remove all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

PUAs often seem legitimate and tempt users to install with offers of "useful" functions. Despite how good these offers may sound, the features promised are rarely operational. The lack of functionality renders PUAs useless, yet they also have capabilities that can cause serious issues.
The only purpose of these rogue apps is to generate revenue for the developers at the expense of users. PUAs force-open untrustworthy/malicious sites, deliver intrusive advertisements and collect private data.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs most commonly infiltrate devices through the download/installation set-ups of other programs. "Bundling" is the term used to describe this deceptive marketing tactic of pre-packing regular content with unwanted or malicious software.
Rushing download and installation processes (e.g. skimming or ignoring terms, skipping steps and sections, using presets, etc.) endangers systems with potential infiltration and infections. Some applications within this classification have "official" download pages.
Intrusive ads also proliferate PUAs - when clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without users' consent.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Research all content to verify its legitimacy, before download/installation. Use official and verified download channels. Sources such as Peer-to-Peer sharing networks (BitTorrent, Gnutella, eMule, etc.), free file-hosting websites and other third party downloaders are untrusted and can offer deceptive and/or bundled software.
Treat download/Installation processes with caution. Read the terms, study all possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and decline download/installation of additional apps, tools, features and so on. Intrusive ads often seem normal and harmless, however, they can redirect to dubious web pages (e.g. pornography, adult-dating, gambling, etc.).
If you encounter advertisements/redirects of this kind, inspect the device and remove all dubious applications and/or browser extensions/plug-ins without delay. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
