Avoid downloading dubious content from faters0upload.com

What is faters0upload[.]com?
Identical to mob1ledev1ces.com, faters0upload[.]com is a scam website that promotes various rogue installers, which are usually disguised as Flash Player updates. These fake updaters are commonly used to infiltrate systems with untrustworthy software - adware, browser hijackers and other Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs).
They can also cause malware infections (e.g. install trojans, ransomware, etc.). Few users access faters0upload[.]com or other deceptive sites intentionally - they are redirected by intrusive ads or PUAs already installed on the system.
Rogue software updaters infiltrate and infect devices with unwanted and malicious content. For example, PUAs, which have varied capabilities. They can generate redirects to sale-based, untrusted, rogue, compromised, deceptive/scam and malicious web pages (including faters0upload[.]com).
Adware-types run intrusive ad campaigns and deliver various annoying and even harmful ads (e.g. banners, pop-ups, surveys, coupons, etc.). These ads diminish browsing speed and overlay web pages. Furthermore, when clicked, they can redirect to dangerous sites and stealthily download/install unwanted content (e.g. PUAs).
Other unwanted applications called browser hijackers modify browsers and limit/deny access to their settings. Most PUAs (regardless of their specifics) can track data. They monitor browsing activity (browsing and search engine histories) and gather sensitive data derived from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other personal details).
The collected information is often shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) intent on misusing it for profit. In summary, the presence of PUAs on systems can cause various infiltration and infections, result in serious privacy issues, financial loss and even identity theft.
Therefore, update software with tools/functions provided by legitimate developers only. Furthermore, remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

0wnpr0m0.com, bestevervideoplayers.info, and therightwaytofindplayering.pro are some examples of scam web pages promoting fake Flash Player updaters. Typically, they make false claims about Flash being outdated or missing. In general, online scams employ social engineering and scare tactics to trick visitors into performing certain actions.
This can include encouraging users into downloading/installing and/or purchasing nonoperational, untrusted or malicious software, calling fake and expensive support/service lines, revealing personal information (e.g. banking account or credit card details, etc.), making monetary transactions (e.g. bogus fees, payments, etc.), etc.
The only purpose of such scams is to generate revenue for their designers. Therefore, you are strongly advised to exercise caution when browsing.
How did potentially unwanted applications install on my computer?
Fake updaters are just one way that PUAs infiltrate systems. They can also be downloaded/installed together with other software. This deceptive marketing method of pre-packing regular products with unwanted or malicious additions is called "bundling".
When downloading/installing, ignoring terms, skipping steps and sections, using the pre-set options endangers devices with potential infiltration and infections via bundled content. Some PUAs have "official" download pages. Intrusive ads proliferate these apps as well. Once clicked, they can execute scripts designed to download/install PUAs without users' consent.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are advised to research all content to verify its legitimacy, prior to download/installation or purchase. All downloads should be performed from official and verified sources. Untrustworthy download channels, e.g. Peer-to-Peer sharing networks (BitTorrent, eMule, Gnutella, etc.), free file-hosting websites and other third party downloaders can offer bundled software.
Treat download and installation processes with caution. Read the terms, study all possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and decline offers to download/install additional apps, tools, features and so on. Intrusive ads often seem normal and harmless, however, they can generate redirects to rogue web pages (e.g. gambling, pornography, adult-dating, etc.).
If you encounter these ads/redirects, inspect the system and immediately eliminate all dubious applications and/or browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with PUAs, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate them.
