Holiday Radio Promos removal instructions
What is Holiday Radio Promos?
Holiday Radio Promos is a piece of software, classified as adware. Due to its dubious proliferation methods, it is also considered to be a PUA (Potentially Unwanted Application). It is endorsed as a tool for easy access to holiday-themed songs and similar music. Holiday Radio Promos operates by running intrusive advertisement campaigns. In other words, it delivers various undesirable and even harmful ads. It has data tracking abilities as well, which are used to spy on users' browsing habits.
Holiday Radio Promos enables then placement of third party graphical content that is questionable, deceptive and possibly even malicious. This adware delivers pop-ups, banners, coupons, surveys and other adverts. These ads severely diminish the browsing experience, since they limit the browsing speed and website visibility (by overlaying pages). When clicked on, intrusive advertisements redirect to sale-based, untrustworthy, rogue, deceptive/scam, compromised and malicious sites. What is more, some of they can be triggered (by being clicked) to execute scripts, designed to download/install software without user permission. One prime example of software infiltrated into systems in this manner are PUAs. Unwanted applications have other/additional abilities as well. These apps can force-open various hazardous websites, much like the ones intrusive ads redirect to. Another type called browser hijackers can modify browsers, restrict/deny access to their settings and promote illegitimate search engines. Most PUAs, Holiday Radio Promos included, can track data. They monitor browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and collect users' personal information (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). This sensitive data is likely to be shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals), intent on misusing it for profit. In summary, presence of PUAs on a system can result in a variety of infiltrations and infections, serious privacy issues, financial losses and even identity theft. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to immediately remove all suspect applications and/or browser extensions/plug-ins.

Adware-type applications are very common, they tend to appear legitimate and tempt users into download/installation with offer of "useful" features. MessengerDeck, Easy Forms Today and Oniria are a few examples of such software. Genuine appearance, promises of "handy" functions is typical of practically all PUAs. However, the advertised abilities of unwanted apps are usually nonoperational. The only goal of unwanted content is to generate revenue for the developers; to users - it has no genuine value and instead can cause various problems. PUAs are designed to run intrusive advert campaigns, cause redirects to untrustworthy/malicious sites, hijack browsers and gather private data.
How did Holiday Radio Promos install on my computer?
Holiday Radio Promos has an "official" promotional page, from which it can be downloaded. However, such websites are but one way that PUAs proliferate. These applications can also be downloaded/installed together with other products. This false marketing method of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions - is called "bundling". Rushed download and installation processes (e.g. ignored terms, skipped steps and sections, used pre-set options, etc.) - increase the risk of unintentionally allowing bundled content onto the system. Intrusive ads spread PUAs as well. Once clicked on, they can execute scripts to stealthily download/install unwanted software.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
All products should be researched to verify their legitimacy, prior to download/installation. Only official and trustworthy download sources should be used. Unofficial and free file-hosting sites, P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, eMule, Gnutella, etc.) and other third party downloaders - are deemed to be untrustworthy and can offer likewise suspect content. When downloading/installing, it is recommended to read terms, explore all available options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out from additional apps, tools, features and so on. Intrusive advertisements appear legitimate and harmless, however they redirect to unreliable and dubious webpages (e.g. gambling, pornography, adult-dating and others). In case of encounters with adverts/redirects of this kind, users should inspect the system and immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins from it. If your computer is already infected with Holiday Radio Promos, we recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows to automatically eliminate this adware.
