Odrivicdriv[.]top redirect removal instructions
What is odrivicdriv[.]top?
As a rule, users do not visit websites like odrivicdriv[.]top intentionally. It is common that they end up on such sites after clicking some deceptive advertisement, visiting unreliable page, or when they have some potentially unwanted application (PUA) installed on a browser and/or the operating system. A couple of examples of pages that are quite similar or virtually identical to odrivicdriv[.]top are hilycover[.]top, urtheredevo[.]top, lumnyalcolm[.]top.
When visited, sites like odrivicdriv[.]top either display some shady content, or they open other untrustworthy pages (about two or three of them). Therefore, neither odrivicdriv[.]top or websites that it opens can be trusted. It is worthwhile to mention that odrivicdriv[.]top is designed to trick visitors into clicking the "Allow" button which allows websites to show their notifications. Like most pages of this type, odrivicdriv[.]top uses a certain clickbait technique to trick visitors into that - it suggests that visitors need to click the aforementioned button in order to be able to continue browsing/loading the page. Websites like odrivicdriv[.]top should not be given a permission to show notifications because their notifications contain links to questionable sites, deceptive ads, etc. A couple of examples of notifications that odrivicdriv[.]top shows are provided below. As mentioned in the first paragraph, it is common that questionable pages often get opened by browsers that have some PUA installed on them. It is common that apps of this type are designed to serve advertisements (e.g., coupons, banners, surveys, etc.) that are designed to open untrustworthy websites. In some cases they can cause unwanted downloads and/or installations by executing certain scripts. Also, PUAs tend to be designed to gather various data. For example, IP addresses, addresses of visited websites, entered search queries, geolocations and other browsing data, or even sensitive information. Gathered information could be misused to generate revenue by selling it to third parties (potentially cyber criminals) or in other ways. Therefore, their users might experience problems related to online privacy, browsing safety, or even become victims of identity theft.

Most PUAs do not improve browsing experience, include any features and/or are useful in some other way. In other words, in most cases they are designed only to generate revenue for their developers. They are called PUAs because users download and/or install them unknowingly.
How did adware install on my computer?
Quite often unwanted apps are distributed through deceptive advertisements and download, installation setups of other programs. There are advertisements that, if clicked, can be designed to download and/or install unwanted software by running certain scripts. In other cases users download and/or install PUAs together with some wanted programs - when they do not check and change "Custom", "Advanced" or other settings, or untick checkboxes that are available in download and/or installation setups. it is common that the aforementioned settings can be used to decline offers to download and/or install additionally included apps. This distribution method for potentially unwanted software is known as "bundling".
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
It is recommended to download software from official, legitimate pages and via direct download links. Tools, sources like third party downloaders, Peer-to-Peer networks (e.g., torrent clients, eMule), unofficial websites, and so on, should not be used. Third party installers should not be used too. Also, it is advised not to leave "Advanced", "Custom" and other options/settings of any download and/or installation setup unchecked (or checkboxes unticked). It is common that they can be used to decline offers to download and/or install unwanted apps. Advertisements that are displayed on shady pages should not be clicked as well: when clicked, they could open untrustworthy websites or cause unwanted downloads, installations. And lastly, there should be no unwanted, suspicious extensions, add-ons, plug-ins installed on a browser and software of this kind installed on the operating system. Especially if a browser opens shady pages by itself and/or it displays unwanted advertisements. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
