What is Togo Quick Search browser hijacker?
Togo Quick Search is a potentially unwanted application (PUA) that hijacks a web browser by changing some of its settings to togosearching.com. This app is a browser hijacker designed to promote a fake search engine. Users do not normally download and install apps of this type on purpose (knowingly).
Togo Quick Search browser hijacker in detail
Togo Quick Search changes the URL of a new tab, homepage, and default search engine to togosearching.com. This fake search engine shows results generated by Bing (bing.com). Togosearching.com does not generate its own results. Other fake search engines can serve untrustworthy web pages.
Lots of fake search engines include links to potentially malicious pages in their results, for example, links to sites designed to trick visitors into installing PUAs, providing sensitive information. Also, fake search engines can show results generated by other untrustworthy search engines.
Togosearching.com can be removed from the settings of a hijacked browser by uninstalling Togo Quick Search and a couple of other steps. A step-by-step guide for eliminating fake search engines (unwanted addresses in web browser's settings) and browser hijackers is provided below.

More information about browser hijackers
Browser hijackers can be designed to collect browsing data and (or) personal information like entered search queries, visited pages, passwords, credit card details, and so on. Users should not trust apps of this type. More examples of browser hijackers are SearchStreamz, GetRadioSearch, GetMusicSearch. Most of them are distributed using shady methods.
How did Togo Quick Search install on my computer?
Browser hijackers are often distributed through downloaders and installers for other programs (usually freeware). Users can deselect unwanted apps in "Custom", "Advanced", "Manual" or other options before downloading or installing programs that are distributed together with them.
Users end up having unwanted apps downloaded or installed when they leave the settings mentioned above unchanged. Also, users download or install PUAs by clicking deceptive advertisements designed to run certain scripts or through fake installers.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Programs should not be downloaded or installed without changing "Advanced", "Manual" or other settings, or unticking ticked checkboxes that their downloaders or installers have. Downloads from sources other than official, legitimate websites and direct links should not be trusted.
Sources for downloading files, programs like third-party downloaders, Peer-to-Peer networks, unofficial sites, etc., can be used to distribute PUAs. Advertisements displayed on questionable pages can be used to distribute PUAs too. Thus, those ads should not be clicked.
If your computer is already infected with Togo Quick Search, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this browser hijacker.
