Browser notification spam in general

We have analyzed thousands of rogue webpages; championtest[.]comwaicaiwhosha[.]com, and monterrey[.]top are merely a few examples of our latest finds.

These sites deliver browsing notifications that promote deceptive and malicious material. It is noteworthy that any legitimate content encountered through these ads is unlikely to be endorsed by its actual developers. Instead, this promotion is undertaken by scammers who abuse affiliate programs of genuine products in order to acquire illegitimate commissions.

How did muttere[.]buzz gain permission to deliver spam notifications?

Websites cannot deliver browser notifications without user permission. Therefore, you have likely visited muttere[.]buzz and selected "Allow", "Allow Notifications", or a similar option presented on this page.

Keep in mind that rogue sites commonly use deceptive content (e.g., clickbait, fake CAPTCHA verification, etc.) to trick visitors into enabling the notification (advertisement) delivery.

How to prevent deceptive sites from delivering spam notifications?

To avoid receiving undesirable browser notifications – do you not enable suspicious websites to display them (i.e., do not press "Allow", "Allow Notifications", etc.). We advise ignoring or denying notification requests (i.e., clicking "Block", "Block Notifications", etc.).

Should your browser continuously force-open questionable sites unprompted, it could be caused by the presence of advertising-supported software (adware). If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?

Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.

Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
