DiVapton removal instructions
What is DiVapton?
DiVapton is a potentially unwanted application developed by Super Web LLC. This browser extension is compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox and promises to enhance users' Internet browsing experience by displaying coupon ads, adding multiple site search capabilities, and website ratings. Note that while such added functionality may seem legitimate, many Internet users refer to this browser add-on as the DiVapton virus or malware. These negative associations are made since this plugin is distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'. The application installs on users' Internet browsers without their consent together with free software downloaded from the Internet. Technically, it is not a virus or malware, however, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted application.
Computer users should be aware that, today, the majority of free software download websites use 'download clients', which offer installation of promoted browser extensions or toolbars together with the chosen freeware. Some download clients are deceptive and make the 'decline' button difficult to locate, a button that allows the user to opt-out of installation of the promoted browser add-ons (commonly, adware, which causes unwanted ads or browser redirects). Although DiVapton is not a virus, it does cause diminished browser performance and generates unwanted third-party ads, which may lead to serious computer security issues. For these reasons, you are advised to eliminate this unwanted browser plugin from your Internet browser/s.
After successful installation, DiVapton generates various types of advertising, including search, banner, text link, transitional, interstitial, and full page ads. These ads and features appear via the DiVapton software and are not associated with or endorsed by any underlying websites. A clear indication that this add-on is present on your Internet browsers are "Ads by DiVapton", "Powered by DiVapton", and "Divapton Deals" advertisements displayed whilst browsing the Internet. Previous variants of this adware were named Glindorus and Whilokii, amongst many others. As well as generating unwanted ads, this browser add-on is also a threat to your privacy - it tracks IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, operating systems, browser information, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, and other software and hardware information. To avoid installation of such adware, computer users should be attentive when downloading free software. If your freeware download is managed by a 'download client', look for the 'decline button' and opt-out of installation of promoted browser plugins. If you have already installed DiVapton, use the removal instructions provided to eliminate it from your Internet browser/s.
