Quantum Look removal instructions
What is Quantum Look?
Developed by a company called SuperWeb LLC (published by Zammillo), Quantum Look is a potentially unwanted application claiming to improve the quality of users' Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other functions. Although this functionality may seem legitimate, be aware that Quantum Look is considered to be adware. The developers of this potentially unwanted program (PUP) employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to stealthily install Quantum Look on browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' consent. Following successful infiltration, Quantum Look generates numerous intrusive online advertisements including banner, interstitial, transitional, pop-up, text-link, and full-page ads. There is a high probability that clicking advertisements generated by this PUP will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
Furthermore, this potentially unwanted application continually tracks users' Internet browsing activity by collecting information such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, unique identifier numbers, search queries entered, website URLs visited, pages viewed, and other similar details that may be personally identifiable. This behavior may lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft, and for this reason, you are strongly advised to eliminate Quantum Look from your Internet browsers. SuperWeb LLC has released several hundred PUPs identical to Quantum Look. BlissSearch, BrowsePro, Webrunn, and Shopping Assistant are just a few examples amongst many. This company intentionally releases identical browser extensions under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware suites. None of these browser plug-ins add any real value for the user - their purpose is to generate income by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Most users infect their computers with adware during the download of free software via small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites such as download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com amongst many others. Download clients are used to monetize the free services of these websites by offering installation of promoted 'virus-free' browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections. This situation can be prevented by closely inspecting each step of the freeware download process and never accepting installation of any additional programs offered. If you are installing downloaded software, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to decline them. If you have already installed Quantum Look, and observe "Ads by Quantum Look", "Quantum Look Deals", and "Powered by Quantum Look" advertisements when surfing the Internet, follow this removal guide to eliminate this adware from your Internet browsers.
