EasyMailLogin Toolbar

Also Known As: EasyMailLogin browser hijacker
Damage level: Medium

What is EasyMailLogin?

EasyMailLogin is a deceptive browser toolbar claiming to provide mail management functionality. On initial inspection, this application may seem legitimate and useful, however, EasyMailLogin is categorized as a browser hijacker and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).

After stealthily infiltrating Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox without users' permission, EasyMailLogin alters browser settings and collects various Internet browsing-related information.

EasyMailLogin browser hijacker

This bogus browser plug-in assigns the default search engine and homepage to the ask.com website. In addition, it installs a number of browser extensions/apps to prevent users from returning browsers to their previous states. In doing so, EasyMailLogin diminishes the Internet browsing experience, since users are redirected to ask.com without their consent.

Furthermore, users' Internet browsing activity is continually monitored, since EasyMailLogin gathers various information, which might be personally identifiable. Thus, having EasyMailLogin installed can lead to serious privacy issues. You are strongly advised to uninstall this deceptive browser plug-in immediately.

EasyMailLogin is identical to Action Classic Games, ProductivityBoss, MyRadioAccess, and tens of other browser toolbars developed by Mindspark Interactive Network. Although these plug-ins claim to enable a range of different features, they all have identical behavior.

Toolbars developed by this company assign the aforementioned browser settings to ask.com and monitor Internet browsing activity. Rather than enabling the promised features and providing any significant value for the user, these extensions simply generate revenue for the developers.

How did EasyMailLogin install on my computer?

Extensions developed by Mindspark Interactive Network are listed on an official download website, however, they are also likely to install as 'bundles' with regular software.

Many users do not realize that developers of rogue applications intentionally conceal them within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings. By rushing the download and installation procedures and skipping most/all steps, users inadvertently install rogue applications.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

The key to computer software is caution. Do not rush the download or installation processes. Closely analyze each step and opt-out of all additionally-included applications. Furthermore, software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any bundled apps listed for installation and allow you to cancel them.
