Oasis Space removal instructions
What is Oasis Space?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Oasis Space is a deceptive application that, according to the developers, significantly improves the Internet browsing experience by enabling various 'useful features' - "We're passionate about improving web by providing the best tools to enhance the browsing experience, from searching the web to comparing online deals to find the best prices. We've combined all of our great ideas into the Oasis Space product suite, a FREE set of tools that work to make your browsing experience... better!". This description is used to trick users into believing that Oasis Space is a legitimate and useful browser extension. In fact, this plug-in is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). After stealthily infiltrating the system, Oasis Space tracks users' Internet browsing activity and displays a variety of intrusive online advertisements.
Oasis Space uses a virtual layer to display search, banner, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, in-text, full-page, and other similar advertisements. No advertisements generated by this adware originate from visited websites. The displayed ads overlay and hide underlying content, thereby diminishing the Internet browsing experience. Users are forced to continually avoid clicking these adverts, some of which redirect to bogus sites containing infectious content - clicking them can lead to high-risk adware or malware infections. In addition, Oasis Space continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity and gathers various types of software and hardware data including unique identifier numbers, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine geographic locations), websites visited, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines, and other collected information that might contain personally identifiable information. The collected data is later shared with third parties who can misuse it to generate revenue. This kind of behavior can result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft, and therefore, you are strongly advised to uninstall Oasis Space adware immediately.
Oasis Space is just one of hundreds of identical add-ons developed by SuperWeb LLC including Magical Find, High Stairs, Super Great, and Twinkle Star. No applications developed by this company provide the functionality promised. They are developed solely to generate revenue by delivering intrusive online advertisements (via the 'Pay Per Click' - PPC - advertising model) and collecting personally identifiable information (which is later shared with third parties).
How did Oasis Space install on my computer?
The developers usually distribute Oasis Space as a 'bundle' with other (mostly free) software. The so-called 'bundling' method is popular, since many users do not pay enough attention when downloading and installing software. Unaware that developers intentionally conceal rogue applications within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings, they rush the download/installation processes, skip most/all steps, and go on to inadvertently install PUPs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Adware-type computer infections can be prevented by taking two simple steps. Firstly, perform the download and installation processes with caution - closely analyze each step and decline all offers to install additional programs. Secondly, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any concealed apps listed for installation and allow you to opt-out.
