DynamicWPaper removal instructions
What is DynamicWPaper?
According to the developers, DynamicWPaper varies computer appearances by continually changing desktop wallpapers - "DynamicWPaper picks for you the best dynamic wallpaper apps to make you feel like your desktop or computer is renewed daily." Some users may believe that this functionality is legitimate and useful, however, DynampicWPaper is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). There are a number reasons for these negative associations including stealth installation without users' consent. Once installed, DynamicWPaper generates intrusive advertisements and collects Internet browsing-related information.
As with regular adware, DynamicWPaper generates pop-up, banner, search, and other similar ads which do not originate from the visited sites. These conceal underlying web content and diminish the Internet browsing experience. Most redirect to various e-commerce websites (for example, online stores), however, some can lead to bogus sites containing infectious content. There is a high probability that by clicking these advertisements will cause further adware or malware-type computer infections. The ads are displayed using a virtual layer, which enables placement of any third party graphical content on visited websites. Additionally, DynamicWPaper gathers various information related to Internet browsing activity, some of which may be personally identifiable. The developers can share this data with third parties, and therefore, having DynamicWPaper installed on your system might lead to serious privacy issues. We strongly recommend that you uninstall this PUP from your system.
DynamicWPaper is identical to Desktop-play, PcandMobileGames, and Games Desktop, however, there are also many adware-type applications with very similar behavior (adware-type applications are in general similar). As with DynamicWPaper, apps such as PlayGEM, ZiperFly, SaveDeals, and WhiteWindow also claim to provide useful features. These false promises are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimacy. The purpose of adware-type applications is to generate revenue by displaying advertisements (via the 'Pay Per Click' - PPC - advertising model) and gathering personal data (which is later sold to third parties). They provide not real value for users.
How did DynamicWPaper install on my computer?
This application is free for anyone to download on its official website, however, it is also distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling', and thus, many users inadvertently install this app during download or installation of other software. Unaware that developers hide rogue applications within the 'Custom/Advanced' settings, users often expose their systems to risk of infection by rushing these processes. The developers are concerned only with the amount of revenue generated, which is dependent on the number of apps distributed. Thus, they do not properly disclose installation of PUPs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent installation of apps such as DynamicWPaper, be attentive during download and installation of any software. Follow each step and decline all offers to download/install additional programs. Most PUPs are concealed, and therefore, you should use the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will enable you to cancel them.
