Fullsearching.com Redirect

Also Known As: fullsearching.com browser hijacker
Damage level: Medium

What is fullsearching.com?

Developers present fullsearching.com as an Internet search engine that generates the most relevant search results. Judging on appearance alone, fullsearching.com may seem identical to Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other legitimate Internet search engines. Therefore, users often believe that fullsearching.com is also legitimate.

In fact, this site is promoted via deceptive software download/installation tools that hijack web browsers and stealthily modify various options. In addition, fullsearching.com records various data relating to users' Internet browsing activity.

fullsearching.com browser hijacker

Rogue download/installation set-ups target the most popular web browsers: Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. Set-ups assign the new tab URL, default search engine, and homepage options to fullsearching.com, and append this URL to the target of each browser shortcut.

Therefore, when users open browsers, new browsing tabs, or attempt to search via the URL bar, they encounter unwanted redirects to fullsearching.com. Note that all this is done without users' consent.

Furthermore, set-ups infiltrate a number of "helper objects" (third party browser extensions and/or applications) that reassign the aforementioned settings when attempts are made to change them. Thus, users are unable to return browsers to their previous states. Continual unwanted browser redirects significantly diminish the web browsing experience.

Helper objects, and fullsearching.com, also gather information that might be personally identifiable including (but not limited to) Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, Internet service providers (ISP), geo-location, websites visited, search queries, and pages viewed.

The data is shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse personal information to generate revenue. Therefore, data tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. If you encounter unwanted redirects to fullsearching.com, eliminate all suspicious applications/browser plug-ins (helper objects) and never visit this site again.

Research shows that fullsearching.com is identical to nuesearch.com, mylucky123.com, searchonlineusa.com, and a number of other fake Internet search engines. All offer identical functionality - improved search results, however, these claims are merely attempts to trick users into believing that these websites are legitimate and useful.

Be aware that fake search engines are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. These sites provide little or no value for regular users, cause unwanted browser redirects, and collect personal data. Furthermore, some generate results leading to malicious websites. Therefore, using a fake Internet search engine can lead to high-risk computer infections.

How did fullsearching.com install on my computer?

To promote fullsearching.com, developers employ a deceptive marketing method called "bundling", since they know that users often rush the download/installation processes and skip most steps. Therefore, details regarding modification of browser settings are hidden within the "Custom/Advanced" settings of the download or installation processes.

By skipping this section, users grant set-ups permission to modify various options. The more developers promote fullsearching.com, the more revenue they generate and, thus, information regarding these installations is never properly disclosed.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

To prevent this situation be very cautious during the download/installation processes. Closely analyze each step of using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings. Furthermore, decline all offers to download/install additional applications and do not allow set-ups to modify options that are irrelevant to installation.
