Developed by Mindspark Interactive Network (now known as IAC network), FreeManualsIndex is a deceptive application that supposedly allows users to find manuals for various tools. Judging on appearance alone, this app may appear legitimate and useful, however, FreeManualsIndex is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and a browser hijacker.

The main reasons for these negative associations are stealth installation without consent and modification of web browser options.

FreeManualsIndex is identical to GetFlightInfo, SimplePictureEdit, GetFreeGifs, and dozens of other browser hijackers developed by the same company. These apps offer different functionality, but have identical behavior. Browser-hijacking applications offer "useful features" to give the impression of legitimacy.

Change your default Internet search engine:
