Ads By NTSRV

What is Ads By NTSRV?
Ads By NTSRV is a series of intrusive ads (promoting features, various offers, etc.). These are delivered by adware (adware-type applications) that users generally install unintentionally. In addition to deploying intrusive ads, these apps often collect user-system, browsing-related information.
Typically, ads delivered by adware include coupons, banners, surveys, and so on. In this case, the ads might be marked with the "Ads By NTSRV" (or similar) label. They are very annoying, since most are displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying content.
Furthermore, when clicked, they can lead to untrustworthy websites or even execute scripts designed to download other potentially unwanted applications (PUAs). Adware-type apps often collect data, including IP addresses, search queries, keystrokes, geo-locations, URLs of visited websites, and so on.
This data might contain personal or sensitive details that are shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) to generate revenue. This misuse of private information can lead to privacy/browsing safety issues, or even identity theft. For these reasons, we recommend that you uninstall Ads By NRSRV immediately.

Many adware-type applications are available online, many of which are similar or identical. Other examples of similar adware are Ads2 and Speed Dial.
In most cases, they are promoted as legitimate and useful, and supposedly provide various features, however, these are attempts to trick users into downloading and installing them. Few of these apps provide any real value (features, tools, and so on).
How did Ads By NTSRV install on my computer?
Users often install Ads By NTSRV unintentionally when software developers use the "bundling" method - a deceptive marketing method used to trick users into installing potentially unwanted applications (such as adware) with third party software by hiding them in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar options/settings of the installation processes.
These installations usually happen when users do not check available installation settings or skip steps.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Download software using official and trustworthy websites. Avoid using third party software downloaders, torrents, and other software of this type. Study each installation step by checking "Advanced"/"Custom" and other similar settings of the setup stage. Deselect all unwanted offers and only then finish the installation process.
Intrusive ads often seem legitimate, since developers (potentially cyber criminals) invest time and resources into their design. Once clicked, however, they redirect to untrustworthy websites (adult dating, pornography, gambling, etc.).
If you encounter ads that redirect you to untrustworthy sites, check for suspicious software installed on your browser (extensions, plug-ins, add-ons, etc.) and programs on your computer. Remove suspicious/unknown/unwanted software immediately.
If your computer is already infected with Ads By NTSRV, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this adware.
