How to remove redirects to and from 1shownews.com

What is 1shownews[.]com?
1shownews[.]com is an untrustworthy website, sharing common traits with enerativearea.pro, oawhaursaith.com, globallyreinvation.com and countless others. Visitors to this site are presented with dubious material and/or are redirected to other rogue and malicious pages.
These websites are rarely accessed intentionally, since most visitors enter them via redirects caused by intrusive ads or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs). These apps do not need express user permission to be installed onto devices. PUAs cause redirects, deliver intrusive ad campaigns, and track browsing-related information.
Once accessed, 1shownews[.]com checks visitors' IP addresses to learn their geolocations. This information is key in determining the web page's further course of action. I.e., whether users are redirected elsewhere and/or are presented with dubious content depends on their geolocations.
This rogue site also uses browser notifications, which it attempts to trick visitors into allowing with 'clickbait' ("Press 'Allow' to verify, that you are not [a] robot"). If the notifications are enabled, 1shownews[.]com starts delivering intrusive advertisement campaigns.
The ads it delivers redirect to various deceptive/malicious websites and can even stealthily download/install rogue software (e.g. PUAs) when clicked. These unwanted applications can force-open similarly harmful pages and/or run intrusive ad campaigns. Furthermore, most PUAs have data tracking capabilities.
They can monitor browsing activity (URLs visited, web pages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and gather sensitive data extracted from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). This information is likely to contain personally identifiable details, which are typically shared with and/or sold to third parties seeking to misuse them for profit.
To summarize, the presence of PUAs on devices can result in system infections, financial loss, serious privacy issues and even identity theft. To ensure device and user safety, you are strongly advised to eliminate all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins without delay.

PUAs may seem legitimate and normal, and often tempt users into download/installation with offers of "useful" functionalities. In fact, the advertised features seldom work as promised and, in most cases, do not work at all.
These unwanted apps have just one purpose: to generate revenue at users' expense. Rather than delivering any real value, PUAs force-open dubious and malicious sites, run intrusive ad campaigns and collect private information.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs are distributed via the download/installation set-ups of other products. "Bundling" is the term used to define this deceptive marketing tactic of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions.
By rushing through download/installation processes (e.g. ignoring terms, using pre-set options, etc.), many users risk unintentionally allowing dubious and/or bundled content into their devices. Some PUAs have "official" download web pages. When intrusive ads are clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without users' consent.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are advised to research all software before download/installation. Use only official and verified channels. Untrusted sources such as unofficial and free file-hosting websites, P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, eMule, Gnutella, etc.) and other third party downloaders can offer bundled content.
Download and installation processes must be approached with caution. Read the terms, explore all available options, use the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings and decline downloading/installing additional apps, tools, features, etc. Intrusive ads may seem legitimate, however, they can redirect to various dubious web pages (e.g. adult-dating, pornography, gambling and others).
Should these advertisements/redirects be encountered, check the system and remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
