Ytdownload[.]net redirect removal instructions
What is ytdownload[.]net?
Ytdownload[.]net is an untrustworthy website, offering YouTube video conversion to MP3 and MP4 file download services. This site not only infringes copyright laws but it also uses rogue advertising networks. Therefore, when ytdownload[.]net is visited and/or used, it causes redirects to various unreliable and even malicious webpages.
When websites using rogue advertising networks are accessed and/or any content presented in them is interacted with (i.e. hosted ads or displayed buttons are clicked) - they redirect to various sale-based/promotional, rogue, deceptive/scam, compromised and malicious pages. Visiting such sites can lead to a wide variety of problems. Ytdownload[.]net has been observed redirecting to various questionable webpages, amongst which have been promotional sites of PUAs (Potentially Unwanted Applications). Furthermore, once clicked on, intrusive advertisements (which are commonly hosted on websites that use rogue networks) redirect to similarly dangerous pages and some can even stealthily download/install software (e.g. PUAs). Unwanted apps typically appear legitimate and offer a wide variety of "useful" and "advantageous" functionalities, ranging from system cleaning/optimizing to easy access tools to online content (e.g. email, weather, news, movies, sports, music, etc.). However, the promised features rarely work as advertised and in most cases - they do not work at all. What is more, PUAs usually have heinous unmentioned abilities. Some unwanted applications can force-open untrustworthy and harmful sites. Adware-types deliver intrusive advertisements, which have the previously mentioned qualities (i.e. causing redirects and making stealthy downloads). Browser hijackers modify browser settings and restrict/deny access to them - in order to promote fake search engines. The promoted search engines are seldom capable of providing search results, so they redirect to Yahoo, Bing, Google and other legitimate ones. Most PUAs (regardless of type) can track data. They can record browsing activity (URLs visited, webpages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and collect personal information inferred from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). The gathered data is then shared with and/or sold to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals), intent on likewise misusing it for profit. In summary, presence of unwanted software on devices can lead to system infections, financial losses, severe privacy issues and even identity theft. To protect device and user safety, all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins must be eliminated without delay.

320youtube.com, easymp3converter.com, youtubetomp3music.com, youtubetomp3.sc, videovor.com - are some examples of websites practically identical to ytdownload[.]net. Thousands of sites on the web use rogue advertising networks as a monetization technique. Therefore, visiting and/or using such suspect pages is strongly advised against - due to the risks they pose to user privacy and device integrity. Should a browser be automatically force-opening dubious webpages, it is likely to be caused by PUAs installed onto the system.
How did adware install on my computer?
Select PUAs have "official" promotional pages, from which they can be downloaded. These applications are also distributed via download/installation setups of other software. This false marketing method of packing regular programs with unwanted or malicious additions - is called "bundling". Rushed download/installation processes (e.g. ignored terms, skipped steps, used pre-set options, etc.) - increase the risk of unintentionally allowing bundled content into the system. Upon being clicked on, intrusive adverts can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without user permission.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
It is important to research software before download/installation and/or purchase. All downloads must be done from official and verified sources. Since untrustworthy channels, e.g. unofficial and free file-hosting websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks and other third party downloaders - often offer deceptive and/or bundled content. When downloading/installing, it is recommended to read terms, study all possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out from supplementary apps, tools, features, etc. Intrusive advertisements appear legitimate and harmless, however they redirect to highly questionable sites (e.g. gambling, pornography, adult-dating, and so on). In case of encounters with adverts and/or redirects of this kind, users must check their devices and immediately remove all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins from them. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
