More about ChromeLoader

FLB Music is not the only ChromeLoader malware variant. Other variants are disguised as other programs (e.g., utilities helping users to find subtitles for movies and TV shows) and have different capabilities. Those variants can destroy systems, deploy ransomware, and perform other malicious activities.

More examples of ChromeLoader malware variants are Mobile, Markets, and Travel.

How did adware install on my computer?

FLB Music is distributed via a deceptive website that downloads an ISO file. FLB Music gets installed after launching its installer from the ISO file and completing the installation steps. Also, the ISO file mentioned above could be distributed via browser redirects and YouTube video comments.

In other cases, advertising-supported software is distributed via fake installers, software bundles, and dubious advertisements. Users install adware alongside other software when they finish installations without changing "Advanced", "Custom", "Manual", or similar settings.

How to avoid installation of unwanted applications?

Download software only from official websites (or stores). Never use shady pages, P2P networks, third-party downloaders and stores, free file hosting pages, etc., to download apps or files. Also, do not trust ads appearing on suspicious websites. Never agree to receive notifications from pages claiming that you have to click the "Allow" button to perform certain actions.

Deselect unwanted applications (change the settings provided in installers) before finishing software installations. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
