Fortunitas Virus removal instructions

What is Fortunitas?

Created by a company called SuperWeb LLC, Fortunitas is a rogue browser add-on claiming to improve users' Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and website trust ratings. Although this functionality may seem legitimate, users should be aware that Fortunitas is considered to be adware. The add-on is compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. This potentially unwanted application uses a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install on browsers without users' consent. Following successful installation, Fortunitas generates various types of intrusive advertisements such as text link, banner, search, transitional, interstitial, and full page ads.

Fortunitas Ads

Furthermore, Fortunitas tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording various hardware and software information, including URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, unique identifier numbers, IP addresses, and other information. The presence of Fortunitas, or other similar adware on your system, may lead to serious privacy issues or malware infections. SuperWeb LLC has released over one hundred rogue browser add-ons identical to Fortunitas. Examples include Maucampo, Melondrea, BlindBat, and Enhancetronic. These plug-ins are useless to the user - the company releases identical browser extensions under different names with the intention of avoiding detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware software. The main purpose of browser plugins created by SuperWeb LLC is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.

Most current freeware download websites (such as download.com, soft32.com, and softonic.com) employ 'download clients' to monetize their free services. These are small programs, which encourage users to install promoted browser add-ons along with the chosen software. Careless installation of freeware may result in adware infections, and therefore, users should pay close attention when downloading free software and decline installation of any advertised plug-ins. When installing downloaded software, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Typical' or 'Quick' - this will reveal applications intended for stealth installation along with the chosen free software, and you will be able to decline them. Users who observe "Ads by Fortunitas", "Powered by Fortunitas", and "Fortunitas Deals" when browsing the internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate Fortunitas adware from their Internet browser/s.
