Donkick removal instructions
What is Donkick?
Created by SuperWeb LLC, Donkick is a potentially unwanted application, which claims to improve the quality of users' Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other useful functionality. Although this may seem a legitimate browser extension, be aware that Donkick is considered to be adware since it employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install on browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome) without users' consent. After successful infiltration on these browsers, Donkick tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording various software and hardware information including IP addresses, URLs visited, search queries entered, pages viewed, unique identifier numbers, and other similar details, which may be personally identifiable. This behavior may result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Furthermore, Donkick generates various intrusive online advertisements. For example: transitional, interstitial, text-link, banner, search, and full-page ads. There is a high probability that clicking these advertisements will lead to high-risk adware or malware infections, and for this reason, you are strongly advised to eliminate Donkick from your Internet browsers. The developers of this potentially unwanted application (SuperWeb LLC) have released several hundred rogue browser extensions identical to Donkick. Karatoh, Gooternet, Brass Search, and zap tilla are just some examples amongst hundreds. Neither Donkick, nor any other of these plug-ins add any real value for the user. SuperWeb LLC intentionally releases identical browser add-ons under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware suites. Their purpose is to generate income by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Commonly, users infect their computers with adware such as Donkick during the download of free software via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites (for example, download.com, soft32.com, and softonic.com) Download managers are used to monetize these websites' free services by offering advertised 'virus-free' browser extensions together with the chosen free software. To prevent installation of Donkick or other potentially unwanted applications, pay close attention when downloading free software and never accept installation of any additional programs offered. If you are installing downloaded software, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal any bundled applications and allow you to remove them from the installation list. Internet users who have already installed Donkick and observe "Ads by Donkick", "Donkick Deals", and "Powered by Donkick" advertisements when browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to remove Donkick adware from their Internet browsers.
