What is SushiLeads?

The SushiLeads application claims to be a legitimate tool to help users find the best service professionals in their local areas. Some users may find this functionality legitimate and useful, however, SushiLeads is adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).

One of the reasons for these negative associations is a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third party applications together with the chosen software) used to install SushiLeads on Internet browsers without users' consent.

After successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, SushiLeads displays coupon, banner, price comparison, in-text, and other intrusive online advertisements that may redirect to bogus websites, thereby causing high-risk computer infections.

SushiLeads adware

As with regular adware, SushiLeads collects various information that may contain personally identifiable details. Geographic location, browser types and data (visited sites, pages viewed, etc.), IP addresses, operating system, and other information is recorded and later shared with third parties.

Therefore, the presence of SushiLeads on your system might result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft. Be aware that there are many applications similar or identical to SushiLeads including PastaLeads, DonutQuotes, and PastaQuotes.

These adware-type applications claim to provide useful features to supposedly improve the Internet browsing experience, however, they simply diminish browser performance, cause unwanted browser redirects, display advertisements, and share collected data with third parties to generate revenue.

For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall SushiLeads from your system immediately.

Applications such as SushiLeads are often distributed via small programs called 'download clients' (also called 'installers', 'download managers', 'download tools', etc.) used by freeware download websites such as soft32.com, downloads.com, and softonic.com as traffic and free service monetization tools.

Download clients encourage installation of third party applications together with the chosen software. According to the developers, these promoted apps are '100% legitimate and virus-free', and yet, accepting installation can lead to adware or malware infections.

To avoid this situation, closely analyse each step of the free software download procedure and opt-out of any bundled applications included.

Furthermore, downloaded software should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any bundled apps listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed SushiLeads, the following guidelines will help you to eliminate this adware from your system.
