What is AllDaySale?
AllDaySale is an updated version of CutThePrice adware. According to the developers, AllDaySale helps to save time and money while shopping online - "Use the AllDaySale browser add on and start shopping today without hurting your budget. It’s the complete online shopping tool that gives you the ultimate advantage of comparing the nest deals, discounts, and promotions from all your favourite online shopping sites."
These claims are used to trick users into believing that AllDaySale is a legitimate browser plug-in, however, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware, since it infiltrates systems without users' permission, displays intrusive online advertisements, and collects various user/system information.
The application displays coupons, price comparison, banner, and other similar advertisements (commonly marked as 'Ads by AllDaySale'). These ads do not originate from the visited sites and conceal underlying content, thereby diminishing the Internet browsing experience.
In addition, some ads redirect to rogue sites, and thus, clicking them can lead to further computer infections. The above is achieved using a virtual layer, which enables developers to place any graphical content on visited sites. Furthermore, AllDaySale tracks Internet browsing activity and gathers various information that might contain personally identifiable details.
Although Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other collected information may seem insignificant, it might contain private details such as PayPal or bank account logins/passwords.
This gathered data is later shared with third parties, and therefore, the presence of AllDaySale on your system may lead to serious privacy issues. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall this app.
AllDaySale is similar to other applications also claiming to save time and money including, for example, Awesome Shopper, BitSaveForYou, DownSave, TidyNetwork, and BrowsrApVs. All adware-type applications claim to improve the Internet browsing experience by enabling certain features, however, these claims are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimacy.
The purpose of applications such as AllDaySale is to infiltrate systems, display intrusive online advertisements, and collect personally identifiable information. These apps are designed solely to generate revenue for the developers - they provide no significant value to the user.
How did AllDaySale install on my computer?
This browser add-on infiltrates systems using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of third party apps together with regular software/apps.
The developers often conceal applications such as AllDaySale within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings, and since many users do not pay enough attention when downloading and installing software, bundling applications is very effective. Many users are unaware that PUPs are hidden.
Thus, by rushing the download and installation processes, skipping most/all of the steps, they expose their systems to risk of infection and inadvertently install bogus apps.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
There are two simple steps to prevent adware-type computer infections. Firstly, pay close attention when downloading and installing applications - follow each step and decline all offers to install third party software. Secondly, use the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options during these processes - this will reveal any hidden rogue applications listed for installation and enable you to cancel them.
